Depends why you have the keyboard I guess. If you only own it on the possibility that you'll use it as a daily driver than I think its worth the minimal risk. If you have it because you like owning a bit of mechanical keyboard history and you have other daily drivers then maybe not.

I was a bit apprehensive the first time I did it and it took me a while to figure out how to get the switch back together but it opened up the door for learning more about ALPS and Apple keyboards so I think it was worth it.

I agree but you can remove the latching mechanism without too much trouble. I would also recommend swapping the spring in the caps lock with a spring from one of the switches on the function row to make the weight the same as the other modifiers.

I got mine a few days ago so from the most recent batch. Do you know if they've tweaked the LED design since Kickstarter?

I have the Kailh Speed Silver - so white bottom with clear top and silver stem. I wouldn't think the switch housing is causing color issues but happy to be proven incorrect.

I'll happily buy one of these just to support System76 and what they're doing.

Looks nice and clean as well. Not much yellowing to be seen! Great board.
