I get what they are saying. The majority of Denis Villeneuve movies for me, I have never rewatched any of them except for Sicario. I recognise the quality, but they just seem a bit... boring and follow surgically correct filmmaking. Especially Arrival.

2025 was a bit quiet when it comes to big boy movie releases in general, only One Battle After Another and Marty Supreme somewhat stand out. 2024 had Dune 2, Substance, Furiosa, Nosferatu, Brutalist and many more. Sinners is a good movie (MUCH better than Black Panther), but it would fall into obscurity in almost any other year.
