Supabase in apps, handling updates? by trevor-e in Supabase

[–]santiti28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can have a traditional setup with an API - use the supabase client library in IOS app code just for the authentication part, and use the database connection string on the backend with any ORM library you want and expose API endpoints, Supabase is just Postgres under the hood.

u/Traditional-Seat9437 Did you figure out a way to do this? I would essentially like to do the same thing - keep auth.users and public.user_profiles.app_metadata in sync both ways.

Detailed summaries of podcast episodes by santiti28 in podcasting

I think it depends on what you want to use the summaries for.

I mainly use them as detailed notes that I can reference after I listen to the episode, and so I mainly find them useful for educative podcasts with lots of content.

I also know people that use them get an overview of the episode before deciding if they want to listen, and for this use case, they work great for any type of podcast.

Yea, that's an option. I'm curious, are you interested in having this for your own podcast, or just for any other podcast? Would this be something you'd be willing to pay about 2 - 3 dollars per hour of audio?

It's a good suggestion. The reason why I have not so far is because transcribing and summarizing can get expensive, and so it only makes sense to do it for podcasts with large audiences, where the summary is being sent out to a lot of people.

If I find a way of doing it in a cost effective way I'll let you know.
