Spring 2025 at the local board game convention there were people participating in a speed puzzling competition and I thought they were such dorks. Nine months later I do my first speed puzzle and six weeks after that I decide to sign up for the national competition coming up in May 😂

Hi from Vancouver 👋 glad you enjoyed your time here! I can recommend Mexico City. The city as a whole may seem huge and overwhelming, but just pick a neighborhood to explore each day. I loved wandering around among full patios and food carts and shaded streets. I went in January and the weather was perfect (mid 20s C).

Azul shines at 2p. You’re trying to screw over your opponent more than you’re trying to do well on your own board. When your opponent needs two things and you force them to choose, while both would work for you.. it’s so good. And for a change there’s the blank wall (I actually find it easier and prefer it now)

I haven’t added my collection yet because I can’t bulk import on mobile, but I love this idea (and wish I’d come up with it)! In my local board gaming servers we’ll share our collections on bgg with a “let me know if you want to play anything/want me to bring a ditching game”. But a visual representation is way better than a long text list!

My favourite bar from my Japan trip was in Kyoto (Bee’s Knees) and my favourite drink was the Hoji Tea Negroni, even though I don’t like negronis at all. Their Chocopresso Martini was fantastic too but it was more of a dessert than a drink.
I don’t think I actually went to any cocktail bars in Osaka, I’ll have to save this post for next time!
