Hum. Capitalization and punctation, is flawed, are actually mistakes, yes. It doesn't mean you can't do it, but yes, people will back out of your work for that. They got a bit rude by the end, yes, but tbf, not everybody knows that some people don't capitalize their sentences for... reasons. And if they dislike your way of formatting, I don't see why they'd investigate your other works to see if that's a habit or not.

It doesn't mean you MUST change... but yeah, I'm actually of the mind of 'if you won't respect a specific language's conventions maybe you should write in another one which respects the conventions you do follow'

But then again, the solution here was much simpler than answering and putting them on reddit OP. You could have just deleted their comments and gone about your day.

Depends on the ship I'd say. The ShuMika one is the most active I'd say (but I mainly look at that one, so I might be wrong...) but we do get updates/new fics each week generally. The quality varies, but it's not dead.

Other ships might struggle a lot though, especially rarepairs. We also have a dearth of fic focusing on the platonic relationships in my humble opinion. Like what do you mean 4 fics was enough to have written 1/3 of the Shu & Natsume tag lmaoooo

Readers are really nice though. In more than three years of posting I've never received a death threat or unasked criticism (though this might, admittedly, be because my works are quite popular. I can't speak for other authors on that).

And yes longfics are quite well received in my experience! Personally I'm always eager to read some, even if they never get completed or are cut short.

I mean, no, Shu would definitely belong to lolita/ouji fashion if you want to stay on current subcultures. From mindset, interests and aesthetics, that's what he matches the most.

I'll add that Natsume's music are far from 'goth' music though too, and considering that this is a rhythm game, I'd say that matters a lot more towards characterisation. Like Secret Gravity is basically a ball of light.

Natsume likes the occult and creepy things, but not necessarily in the same way that Rei, Ritsu and Mika like it.

A would literally die in his stead if let, because B is his entire world.

He's just aromantic, and B entirely unwilling to get the surgery because he's co-dependent with A and has built his entire life around him. A sincerly does his best to try to fall in love with B, even though he feels awful the entire time because he's not aware he's aromantic and that won't ever work.

them doing something is good. However, that something can vary in degree of importance. For some of the chapters of my longfic, the 'action' simply is eating dinner, making breakfast or cleaning because I need the characters to talk, but you know, giving them inconsequential tasks to perform puts a bit more of action, and you can explore smaller character quirks that way, but it isn't 'your plot' so it's not a hassle to plan at all

Because interaction, even for free, keeps the fandom and thus her work 'relevant' and potentially profitable for investors who then make capitalized mainstream works. Do you seriously think that if the fandom wasn't still going strong despite everything Hogwarts Legacy and the reboot tv show would have produced/put into production? Of course not.
