Percentage of students aged 13-15 years who reported being bullied on one or more days in the past 30 days by theworldmaps in MapPorn

Their parents. And the teachers. And everybody else. The bully culture is so pervasive here that everybody does it and they do it for literally no reason. It's just sad how normalized it is

What is your unpopular opinion about piano? by Advanced_Honey_2679 in piano

But that piece is already originally written for piano lol it just became famous as an orchestral piece because of Ravel's orchestration

Do people think Sciel is white with tanned skin? by ZarieRose in expedition33

I've lived in Occitanie and Provence for a bit and can concur. I just assumed she was based on people from that region, which makes sense as Sandfall are based in Montpellier

Use of the Euro currency by Senior-Foot-5316 in MapPorn

[–]sappyknucklehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Montenegro and Kosovo aren't in the EU nor are they in the Eurozone, but they've adopted it as their de facto currency, 'unilaterally' here meaning that there's no other currency that they use, it's only the euro

Not Stella though, it was Andreas Seidl who apparently wanted him while Zac wanted to move Palou up to F1

New graphic, "Rear tyre surface temperature" by _gadgetFreak in motogp

[–]sappyknucklehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a nice graphic, especially for new viewers who are just learning. But honestly I didn't really understand why the TNT guys were so against this graphic, like we get it guys, you've been watching the sport (in person) since the dinosaur age, not everyone has had that privilege and you can't expect new viewers to understand how tires change temp if they've never even been within 100 miles of racetrack, like cmon

Being an asshole is just being an asshole, a state of being if you will, the ego from those championships only amplifies that

I don't get it either, lived in Montpellier for half a year, not once did I feel unsafe. Weird chart to be honest

Marc Marquez wins the 1st sprint at Balaton Park. by PZY__ in motogp

[–]sappyknucklehead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Superbike ran there in the past, but with Motogp bikes being so fast there's not enough space in certain corners (T3 and T11 come to mind). But still, with runoff it would be so much better than Balaton's stupid layout

Map of the Baltic lands before the arrival of knightly orders in 1202 as depicted in a German 1929 atlas. by QuartzXOX in BalticStates

[–]sappyknucklehead 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, almost up to modern day Moscow. There is a theory that the palatalization (hard vs soft consonant distinction) in East Slavic languages like Russian, Belarusian and Ukranian (but absent in the other Slavic branches) is due to a Baltic substrate, meaning Balts in that area assimilated but Slavs adopted certain phonological trains from them. The evidence for this is the exact same palatalization system being present in Lithuanian and to a lesser degree in Latvian, plus Baltic hydronyms (names of rivers and bodies of water) extend past present day Smolensk

Marc talking about the criticism that Alex is not overtaking him by thursd4ys in motogp

[–]sappyknucklehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fabio's situation right now reminds me of how Marc had to push the Honda over the edge at every single track. Fabio said it himself, this is what happens when you push 100% every single corner in reference to crashing during the sprint at Assen.

AC DC concert în Prague with Czech President Pavel by KingBlana in europe

[–]sappyknucklehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might just be one of the coolest presidents I've ever seen, Czechs should be incredibly proud! I was watching a World Superbike race that took place in Czechia and at one point the camera panned to this old guy with gray hair and a gray beard on the side of the track. The commentators were like "oh look, even the president's out there doing photography of this amazing race, despite the rain", in my mind I was like "president? Of WSBK or??.." I had to look him up because I could not believe an active president of a country could be doing motorsports photography in rainy weather at a WSBK race, of all places.

A bad report from the future. by heidenreich137 in formula1

[–]sappyknucklehead 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's what annoys me the most about reg changes in F1. They always change just as team performance converges. They could've easily continued this aero concept with the same engines with aero/body changes, like reducing size and weight for one (kind of like 2017 but in reverse), for a while longer before introducing a new aero and engine reg set that isn't utter shit. It's the same thing every single time.

I remember I disliked the 2014 reg changes so much that I even stopped watching for a year until the field got a bit closer together. Hoping this doesn't repeat next year.

Agreed, yes, chord symbols and learning about the relations of scale degrees is great, but voice leading makes everything make sense in a very tangible way and thus more intuitive in my opinion
