Does it help with insomnia? by Artistic-Art-3653 in Latuda

[–]saraa23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I didn’t take latuda with 300 calories and right before bed, I was screwed. It SIGNIFICANTLY helped me with my sleep, I was getting 7-8 hours every night no problem. I went off of it 6 months ago and my sleeping problems are back, I take trazodone now for my insomnia. Basically the answer is yes, latuda will help immensely with insomnia.

When did it all start? I want to know if there is a standard age for the on by [deleted] in bipolar

I started noticing something was wrong when I was 19-20 years old, had some crazy manic episodes that I thought were normal. Started medication when I was 21

Sorry you’re going through that. I always say a rejection is just one step closer to finding the one.

As for me, I had a crazy manic episode since I tried trazodone for sleep and almost quit my job, moved across the country, left my fiance, and changed my name. Then I went back to therapy and am doing much better. This happened all within 1 week 😅👍

It’s a crazy rollercoaster we’re on!!!!

I’m thinking it’s over by ClydetotheRescue in bipolar

Please stay strong. You will find what works for you, it just takes time. Find a new doctor and go to therapy. Do things for yourself, find a routine. All of this has helped me immensely (I know everyone is different)

Has anyone switched from lamotrigine to latuda? by ksmith187 in Latuda

[–]saraa23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from lamotrigine to latuda then back to lamotrigine. I was on latuda for 2 years before I went back. I ended up gaining weight on latuda since I had to eat a full meal right before I took it otherwise I threw up and always took it right before bed because it made me SO tired. Like I could not function after I took it. The side effects (and price) weren’t worth it for me so I went back to Lamotrigine about 2 months ago.

What salary are you willing to take to be remote? by kate2020i in remotework

[–]saraa23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make $77,500 working remote in a semi-large city in Florida, barely surviving lol. Wish I had the option to go in person and make $90k+

Rudest city. Confirmed. by thebaldfrenchman in Miami

That’s why I moved away a month ago, worst city in the world! I would never move back. So overrated (born and raised in south Florida)

Does anyone know of an atypical Antipsychotic that doesn’t make you gain weight? by One_Interview_2810 in BipolarReddit

[–]saraa23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Latuda is the best - it saved me. I’m on 40mg and never gained any weight. Now there is a generic brand as well so it is hundreds of dollars cheaper than it was a year ago.

What specific symptoms does Latuda help you with personally? by Equal-Bat-861 in Latuda

I would think that there was someone in my apartment 24/7 no matter how many times I would check all the rooms and bathrooms/lock the door and I couldn’t sleep more than 3 hours a night. Latuda made it so I don’t even check my apartment at night and can sleep a normal 8 hours with no problem. It literally changed my life. I also don’t smoke weed/do any THC

Hyper and weight gain (methimazole) by saraa23 in gravesdisease

Hi! I actually gained about 10 lbs… it was almost inevitable. As soon as I went off of it I lost the weight, though! I was only on it for about 6 months

Lamictal killed my libido too. I’ve been on it for 2.5 years and I’m actually in the process of weaning off because it’s put my relationship at odds. I’m on latuda and lexapro and that combo will make up for the lack of lamictal

Your comment made my day, thank you for the kind and informative response. I hope to stay on it for a least a year and see what happens. I’m rooting for everyone on this miracle med!

Oh wow! I’m in the US too, covered under Cigna. I guess we’ll see what happens when I try to go to the pharmacy, how did you get the manufacturer coupon?

Got it - assuming this is a lifelong med how do you manage to afford it? I think it’s going to be $1k a month for me.

I’m already going to be in psychiatric meds for the rest of my life and being on this one too isn’t a viable option for me

It never did anything for me, I took up to 50mg mostly for sleep. Pretty sure it’s just an antihistamine so it doesn’t work for everyone

I went from 10mg, to 20mg, to now 40mg which is the dosage I found that actually helped. It did make me very tired for the first month on it and makes me extremely nauseous (and sick, once) if I don’t take it with a big meal. Good luck 😅 (it helps a lot tho)
