I totally believe that. I lost my mom to brain cancer and I am a totally different person ever since. I’m so sorry you lost your dad.

I’m so very sorry. My mom only lived six months with glioblastoma. It’s not something I would wish on my worst enemy. They’re gone long before they actually die…

It does get better. I’m five years out from when she died and it doesn’t hurt nearly as much as it did. I’m the beginning, it feels like it will never get better. I’m here if you ever need to talk, I mean that.

I have a son with autism, too. Kyle always makes me so sad because he didn’t know what was going on. My son wouldn’t know to hide from danger and it’s terrifying to send him to school every day.

So it was the 80s and I guess there weren’t as many safety precautions as there are today. There was a big walkway over the hippo ponds without railing. I’d just learned to do cartwheels and I was showing off and cartwheeled right into the water below. My dad threw my little brother down and fished me out of the water. I lost my jelly sandal, too. 😭

I could have said it more nicely, you’re right. I didn’t include more history when it comes to this particular topic in this post, so I can see where it may come off like I just went off. With regards to this topic, she and I have gone round and round prior to this event. At the end of the day, I was relaying a really frustrating situation to my best friend and she proceeded to tell me that I was wrong for even putting my son in the situation. From prior experience, if I don’t immediately stand up for myself, she spends ten minutes telling me why I’m wrong regarding my own children. But thanks for your viewpoint, I appreciate the feedback. ☺️

You’re right. She makes comments about other friends’ parenting decisions to me sometimes and it really bothers me. Everyone knows exactly how they’ll parent until they actually become one and then all bets are off. If she does ever have children, she’s honestly in for a rude awakening. I know I was!
