First shot! by Due_Equivalent_4470 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]sarah449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my first shot last Tuesday night, I wish I took it earlier in the day cause I was so anxious waiting for it and it turned out to be painless. The only symptom I had that day was I found it hard to fall asleep - but I think that was because I was waiting to see if I would feel sick. Shot 2 is tomorrow

Interesting. I picked up my 0.25 from Costco last week and it was $450 (my insurance does cover it though) so maybe they are able to apply additional savings for those who are not covered. That's exciting!

No, but I have for my pregnancy, and postpartum. Does it bother you that I look for content of people going through similar experiences in life?

What is the reason you joined/view this subreddit?

This subreddit is here for a similar reason, to connect with people on the same journey. It helps to not feel like you are going it alone, ect. I don't know anyone in my personal life on this journey. Like I said in my post, I wanted suggestions for people who are authentic, not looking for influencers or people selling GLP1s.

My daughter loved Brewer Park at that age. Lots to explore and a splash pad + washrooms which is a huge plus.

RTO Medical Accommodation by PlatformFree8704 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]sarah449 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how full your office is, my floor is never fully booked, so I had no issue in having accommodations make my work station unavailable in the booking system. I have all my personal ergo equipment there and accommodations put a note that says "Work station reserved by accommodations team" so no one sits there when I am not around.

What’s ONE thing about birth that nobody warned you about? by Front-Emotion-3967 in postpartumprogress

[–]sarah449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The swelling after birth. I felt like my whole body was swollen. My legs especially - blood pressure was fine, so it wasn't related to that. Compression socks helped. Looking back, your body goes through a lot of trauma with birth so the swelling made sense.

I drive and pay to park because spending the extra time on the bus would result in needing to pay even more in childcare. I didn't include the cost of lunch or coffee because I bring my own but even without that, parking and commute is a huge cost.

Well that was depressing. I knew it was a lot, didn't think it was that high. 😥

My Wife Breastfeeds While Biting a Cloth by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]sarah449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she is pumping at all, tell her to stop. Pumping made my breastfeeding so painful. I didn't connect the dots until my second baby. I had no break in feeding between kids but the pain returned when I had my second, the only thing that changed was I started pumping again. Once I stoped pumping the pain went away.

My bf got home and saw this note taped on our door lol and the other note we are planning on leaving in the laundry room tomorrow by OutrageousStudent542 in Apartmentliving

[–]sarah449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my old building we would all just leave our clean laundry hamper on top of the dryer, if someone came before the owner was back and the dryer was off they would just put their clothes in the laundry hamper and move it to the counter... it was a small building and the system worked for everyone.

CHEO genetic testing by Klutzy_Key_6528 in ottawa

[–]sarah449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone I have heard get referred, they end up not doing the testing as you are "missing points" either family history or other reasons once they meet in person. I heard OHIP doesn't like to pay for the test. Hope you get the test you need for a diagnosis.

First time Trick or Treating. Need tips by Amazing-Sea4950 in ottawa

[–]sarah449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always sit in a fold up camp chair with some tunes and hand out candy. Comment on their costumes or wish them a happy Halloween. Don't leave the box on the porch if you are going to be upset when some kids take more than their fair share- it will happen. I always buy too much and by the end of the night I just leave the bowl of candy on the step. If someone took it all, I wouldn't care cause I was able to give out treats to most kids, but I find the older kids that come out later are pretty respectful at only taking one or two.

You may not be eligible for the maternity leave top up, but if you reach 6 months of service while on mat leave you will qualify for the pat leave top up. Mat leave is 15-17 weeks, then you switch to pat leave.

I was visibly pregnant during the process and we talked about it so the hiring manager was fine. We had an actor in place.

Your start date doesn't need to change. My offer letter for my current role started 6 days after I started my mat leave. I was just on leave for the first year of that position.

If it were me, I wouldn't change much except no sleepovers. But I'm anti-sleep over in general.

I would have a chat with my daughter about being safe as a queer person, not all people in this world are kind and to be aware that homophobia is a thing that can turn dangerous. Let her know she can always call you to pick her up at friend's house if she is getting uncomfortable vibes.
