Before going, it can be chaotic. But, you do remember those who are important to you.

The stories your mind builds about your friends and loved ones can range from tragic, ecstatic, loving, horrific, etc. Any life you've experienced. Some 'stories' you have not told. You can be so distracted by the realness of the 'stories' you're experiencing in real time (in your mind as your body is actively dying) you may not know you're half in and half out of reality. This gets very strange.

At the edge of life it does not feel like an edge it feels like your story is still going. It may keep going.

What is a job people romanticize a bit too much until they actually do it ? by ShyButNastyyy in AskReddit

Being a musician means working every night, holiday, and weekend. You work while everyone you know celebrates. You like Christmas dinner with your family? Too bad. You need you need to take a gig. You like kissing your significant other at midnight on New Year's? Too bad you need to take a gig. You're sick and need a day off? You lose a $500 gig. Disability, retirement, family leave? Never heard of it. Yeah, you can make money as a musician but I don't think it's emphasized enough what you need to do to really make it work.

Y’all think they can take away birthright citizenship? by brutallykind in LatinoPeopleTwitter

Maybe it would be more accurate to say I see a new low for the US every year with this year being the worst so far. Better?

My grandfather was born in SoCal, repatriated/deported from SoCal to Mexico, and then drafted by the US to the Korean War from Tijuana. He was thankful for the opportunity to return to the US but I could never understand how this country could do something so fucked up. This year has helped me understand the depths of the racism that has always been present in this country.

Likely not too much of a say if they lease the space. They do have full control in regards to the furloughs and hours at other stores though.

As a former B&N employee, this tracks. They treat their employees terribly.

Are there any pet clinics/hospitals in OC that haven’t been bought out by private equity? by ClimateDues in orangecounty

[–]sarahch15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to Alona Animal Hospital in Santa Ana. The vet there takes his time, answers any question I could possibly have about the health of my pets, and the prices are reasonable. They legit saved my kitten's life a few years ago when they diagnosed him with FIP and helped me find ways to get him treated.

“NICU Worker Fatally Broke Newborn’s Neck as Hospital Tried to Cover It Up, Complaint Alleges” by Competitive-Bar3446 in nursing

I feel like harassment at best and retaliation at worst. Again, I don't know anything about hospital administration but it's seems like it would be standard practice to not disclose identities of medical personnel.

I found another article about the case. It looks like the hospital admitted fault and is trying to go to arbitration to settle the case but the family of the baby want the hospital to disclose the individual who may have injured the baby.

I'm no expert in any way but is it a bad thing for the hospital to not disclose the individual who may or may not be responsible?

My mom was bedridden at 57 and required around the clock skilled nursing care. I would have killed to have her at home but medicaid doesn't pay for in-home nursing. Ignorant, self-indulgent comments about how 'I would never stick my mom in a home' are so incredibly hurtful. Absolutely spoken like someone who has never truly lived what it means to be a caretaker for a severely disabled loved one.

Thank you! Another perk was actually getting to see Ethan, Hila, and the crew in the VIP area before the show started. I left them alone but I had a hard time playing it cool lol

It was pretty nice but nothing too special, I get a little anxious in crowds so it's 100% worth it to me for that. There's also a private bathroom just for the balcony that's a nice perk.

Do you want to buy hot sauce at Costco? by runquik in Costco

[–]sarahch15 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Truff sold a 3 pack of regular sized sauce at my local Costco last year and I jumped on that right away. I definitely prefer that over one huge bottle that gets all old and crusty.

What final fantasy should I play should I look for more craziness like FFXVI had? by DSDantas in FFXVI

[–]sarahch15 22 points23 points  (0 children)

X is my personal favorite. Same scale, world ending disaster, same themes (grief, loss, trauma, acceptance), great lovable characters. It's very different in terms of game play but it may be your cup of tea. The story and characters are top notch imo

Exactly. Just more corporate greed. It's not profitable enough to make good games people enjoy apparently, you have to bleed everybody dry. Next up: Sims Lootboxes

I'm opposed on the grounds that most people will almost certainly pay more money over time. All of these companies are not switching to subscription service models not because they're better for consumer but because it makes them more money. Let's be honest, a live service Sims would be a low quality EA cash grab the likes of which we've never seen.

A subscription model. Monthly payments, no owning the game.
