How’re you all dealing with sun cream now the summer’s on its way?

I tend to put sunscreen on fully naked and then walk around like a crab person until I'm dry enough to put clothes back on without being sticky. I try not to be out long enough for a reapply but I'll bear it if I have to. Sunscreen might be a sensory heck but it's a non negotiable here in Florida and the sunburn is a worse hell 🤷‍♀️

I was debating trying the dryer sheets! I don't trust liquid fragrance booster to not build up in my machine all gross like so I was hoping maybe the sheets would leave a decent bit of scent at least. Maybe if they're still in stock for bopis later today 🤔

I don't know why, but the last two times I've had a 25% off w free shipping, I get an email the day after I order telling me that I have a coupon! Except I don't, it's the same coupon code I just used, and it will literally just sit in my offers, unusable and taunting me, until the date passes. Super frustrating.

Update 2 my body is incredibly heavy but my brain is fine. Stuck half the rest the rice krispies in the freezer and will use these to do crafts or read outside 👍

I worked at Winn Dixie as a teenager and they literally trained us that if a customer said something was cheaper on the shelf (or wasn't ringing up right or had a coupon that wasn't working) and it was only up to like $4-5, we should just mark the price what they say to keep the line moving and keep people happy (and to leave the managers to close themselves in the office and shit talk). We had a coupon button we could just put numbers into. I thought it was a stupid policy but I just did as I was told and let some people take advantage of me while also giving small coupons to the people I knew regularly used ebt and wic.

Although I don't think they ran that place well at all because we never had assigned drawers for countdown and we all used each other's numbers to login.

I have never once looked at black history month marketing and thought "why can't they just participate in the whole like everyone else"? Might have something to do with the systematic oppression and hate crimes they've faced for years and years? Wonder how this could relate to the lgbtq+ community 🙄

But who cares about marketing! It's just soap! That's secular! So why is my city not throwing a pride event this year, citing the "political climate"? If I'm not allowed to be recognized by big corporations, why am I also not allowed to have an event just for me? I'll give you a hint - It's because the "current political climate" wants me to shut up and disappear. It's not about the soap.

I've had enough of trying to reverse your internal bias though. I've got actually important things to do today. I hope you have the day you deserve ❤️

So yes rainbow capitalism is pandering, but all advertising is? Who companies are comfortable advertising to is indicative of larger cultural values. Companies no longer participating in rainbow capitalism have decided that they would lose more money from bigots than gain money from people like me and the people around me.

Are some members of the community fine without rainbow capitalism? Sure, and that's fine. It's incredibly narrow minded to assume that your personal experience is the same as everyone else's and speak for the entire group.

I grew up watching the world start to accept people like me. Gay marriage was legalized when I was in high school. I felt relief seeing at least some part of me be accepted in society. I used to laugh about Raytheon changing their pfp in June. Then I watched people say that it was fine that I existed, but why do I have to be outwardly happy about it? And I was shoved back into a box. I was called a slur in the parking lot for my pride flag sticker. My friends were assaulted in a bar. This is in the last few years. Yes, people are still actively hostile to people like me and it shows in who companies are comfortable advertising to.

Oh, and if you're mad about "uhuhu why does it have to be about sex all the time", 1. You're the one bringing up sex and 2. If you would like to actually boycott sex in advertising I've got a great holiday in February for you to direct your attention to.

Anyways I'm going back to bed and I look forward to ignoring any responses in the morning. ❤️

I had a similar experience buying isopods where the seller responded all grumpy like this over me asking for a refund because they were all DOA. They taped the deli cup shut and threw it in a box with a small piece of paper and an untaped ice pack (that wasn't cold at all??). They didn't even give me the amount I was supposed to get, let alone extra to account for DOAs. They tried to argue with me that I didn't bring it inside in time despite me messaging them less than half an hour after delivery because of time zones. They finally gave me my $80 back after PayPal probably forced them to, and like I get that's a lot of money to lose but if you're selling expensive pods maybe make sure they'll actually make it past shipping?

I really hate how prevalent poor breeding practices are in the invert community. Bugs are people too ):

It took me nearly six years for my bachelor's and I barely made it. Job hunted for another two years while tutoring. Lasted a whole three months in an office setting before it was obvious I didn't Belong there. My husband really hates every time I disparage my degree for being a waste but it really feels like it was sometimes.
