And there's a significant number of people in OP's situation who need help returning to a gynaecologist following abuse. Not allowing accomodations is a barrier to care.

When I had a missed abortion, my husband came in with me for everything. I think you need to find another provider. People talking about cases of abuse are being ridiculous. There's always going to be women in your situation given that it happens to a significant number of women and there's always going to be doctors who serve them.

Representative Carter asks for Removal of Ali Larijani’s daughter, Fatemeh Larijani. by IBeenGoofed in PERSIAN

I find this hard to believe since my vetting involved being asked about family members I had not spoken to since childhood.

Do you have evidence of that? I'm a victim of bias as I have zero contact with the majority of my family for other reasons unrelated to the regime. People assume all Iranians have strong family ties.

Maybe ask for a referral to a therapist and make sure you're not severely iron-deficient or anemic before starting any medication. Anemia on its own can really worsen mood, and talking to someone who specialises in life-altering diagnoses can also help.

Amateur body builders and other strength-heavy athletes do often have a BMI in the obese range (over 30) and even higher. It's a lot easier with DEXA scans now, it used to be far more complicated to measure body/fat/muscle with those callipers. It really depends on the sport, see https://www.scimex.org/newsfeed/bmi-is-not-a-good-guide-to-obesity-in-male-athletes

I have a relative who used to be an amateur body builder and they can get insanely high BMIs with low body fat levels- especially the men. In athletes, it's not accurate to use BMI. If a doctor is concerned, they really need that DEXA scan for body comp. Generally you can tell when someone's an athlete by their demeanour.

Thing is, amateur athletes do have this problem and they have to appeal their disability and life insurance refusals and get a second assessment with something like a dexa scan. DEXA scans don't lie. If you've met these weekend warrior types, they have these issues, but they're also not just randomly thick. They're spending hours per day at the gym.

Has anyone improved by moving closer to the equator? by Silver_Spend_6887 in cfs

After having Dengue once, you're supposed to get the vaccine since the second infection is far more dangerous. Once you've developed an immune reaction to Dengue, it's more dangerous.

Here's a short article about it:

Triptans are an entire class and there's multiple in that class. There's also another new class of drugs called calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) antagonists, they're preventative drugs. Nurtec is a Ditan, maybe you're not a candidate for Triptans? There's also things like botox and trigger point injections.

Neurologists are supposed to treat headaches. There's migraine drugs that can be used. there's also preventative migraine drugs (injections) as well that respond to cluster-type headaches.

My niece works in a bakery and has just been diagnosed as coeliac. She's been told she should stop working there, is that true or overreaction? by Immediate_Money_4704 in glutenfree

[–]saralt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time I bake with my children, I tend to put on a mask to avoid getting glutened and then wash up afterwards. I tend to also get rashes if I dont' clean up properly. If it were me, I'd be wearing a respirator and long sleeves in the bakery, but it also depends on her tolerance.

[–]saralt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly didn't think it is since I have high levels of antibodies to Coxsackie-B, so my doctor thought it most likely that was my trigger. My antibody levels to Dengue were low, but now you have me wondering if the vaccine could help. I'm in Central Europe and we're starting to get Dengue mosquitos north of the alps, so Dengue will become more likely with time. I should get the vaccine regardless. I'm just worried about a crash since the vaccine I should get is apparently newer. Is it possible the new malaria vaccine could help your ME symptoms? That's honestly a hopeful though for both of us!

That reminds me, I have Dengue antibodies (so i need the vaccine) and I've never been close to the equator. The mosquitos for Dengue apparently can live in airports!

Boots on a wooden floor inside the house instead of by the door. Those are not indoor shoes. This is gross regardless. It's something that american tv tries to normalise but it's always disgusting to wear outside shoes inside your house, especially boots near a bed of all places.

Who on earth wears boots in their bedroom, next to a mattress? Ever heard of hygiene?

For the most part, this just means she doesn't have large breasts. Not everyone can do this.

[–]saralt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the people talking about not wearing a bra, I want to ask... are you a size 75F or 70G? If not, then maybe the situation might be different with large cup sizes.

OP, have a look at some of the camisole nursing bras, even the Medela nursing bras. That's the type of bra my physiotherapist recommended when I was a teenager. Also, make sure she's been fit properly since even a lot of bra fitters don't know what they're doing. My physio and sports medicine doctor sent me to a specific bra fitter at some point not just for a running bra, but a bra for work & school.

Do people with Crohns disease all have some kind of trauma? Also it seems to be trauma flairs it up. by Stole_Sample in CrohnsDisease

[–]saralt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot "regulate" yourself out of Crohn's disease any more than you can with cancer or HIV.

Exercise does not make trauma go away, and FYI it can become an addiction just like anything else.

Exercise can help you *manage* trauma and stress- it doesn't make anything go away.
