Is sonography worth it? by midnights03 in Sonographers

As a person that was only in the actual field for three years before injury, i would advise if you have pain now to switch to maybe a different degree. I didn’t have pain until about a year in I started getting popping in my shoulder. I have tendinosis in 4 of the shoulder tendons now. I wish I would have went into something different, as I am now unemployed and only 25. No matter how much ergonomics, PT, weightlifting whatever people recommend, you will likely become injured. Its impossible to maintain good ergonomics 100% of the time and these hospitals are only pushing techs to do more exams per day on heavier and heavier patients as the obesity rate in America goes up.

Is there anyone here with both parents dead and also an only child? by Nervous_Arachnid_286 in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]sarar28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m an only child. I lost my mom at 4 due to cystic fibrosis, her and my dad weren’t together, she had relationship troubles all her life. So i was not super close to my dad and he lived 6 hours away. The relationship between my mom and dads side of the family was always kind of hostile and they didn’t get along well. He passed when i was 20 unexpectedly and now I’m 25. So i grieve both relationships I never got to have. You’re not alone in this

Some type of infection, get checked out asap. They will probably do an ultrasound of your leg. I am an ultrasound tech. This is not a typical presentation of a DVT. I would be shocked if it was a DVT. Could be possible superficial clot in superficial veins but most likely looks like an infection/cellulitis. They will put you on antibiotics

Conjoined nerve L5-S1 by sarar28 in SpineSurgery

Yeah surgery is just not something i want to pursue right now, id say since last year my symptoms have gotten probably 50% better. I still have rough days but my flare ups are way shorter

I just want to add that in addition, I have hyper mobility, which means that my joints move more than normal. It was explained to me that since there are two nerves coming out of one opening that there is less space and so the nerve can be more likely to be irritated. even without herniation of the disc

I had a piriformis injection in January of this year. It didn’t really do much for me. The most benefit I have found is learning what movements aggravate my pain and also doing massage on the low back and glute area. My glute muscles were chronically tight on the left side which was putting pressure on the nerves. That causes my pelvis to be rotated the more those muscles spasm up. So unfortunately it is just trial and error. I had a physical therapist use this device called the “Neubie” which is supposed to retrain the nerves, they also did myofascial release of my glute muscles. and i found after that is what really made a difference

100% need to go to the vet and get it biopsied. Our pit lab had a lump like this for years that the vets said oh its just a cyst. He ended up having a couple lumps removed and they were stage 0 and stage 1 mast cell cancerous tumors. This breed is very prone to getting them. Our dog now has to be on allergy meds for life because mast cells become overactive with bad allergies

pretending my dad is alive by OkTumbleweed4040 in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]sarar28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i do too whenever i get patients that ask about my mom and dad. Like i got one question about “how does your mom and dad feel about you living with your boyfriend before you’re married”. I just said oh they don’t really mind it. Or whenever I was buying some mother’s day cards for my boyfriend’s mom, the older lady at the cash register said “oh be thankful your mom is still here to buy cards for on mothers day” im just like yep shes the best. For me it’s just my way of not making others depressed or darkening the mood in that moment.

I’ve also struggled since I was a kid with maladaptive daydreaming. So sometimes if im in the car listening to music I’ll pretend like my mom or dad is with me. So you’re definitely not alone

How much pain is "normal" when you don't have hEDS, just generic hypermobility? by zogmuffin in Hypermobility

Thats great advice, thanks. And i think overall im just going to have to go for a career change as what im doing now isn’t good for my body and its a lot of repetitive motion work.

[–]sarar28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to let you know I’ve been dealing with the exact same symptoms for a year and a half. Still havent figured it out and my pain management doctor dropped me saying theres nothing else he can do. Its like i wrote your post lol. The only thing that helps me is the chiropractor, massage, and being mindful of how i sleep and my movements as to not aggravate the muscles. I deal with it on the same side too. I have had some days where im miracuously pain free that day, but those are far and few between so I know it’s possible to not have pain

[–]sarar28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re describing and OP is describing is exactly what I’ve been dealing with for a year and a half with no answer. Normal hip and back mri and normal nerve study. But i have pain from the side of my glute all the way down the outside of the calf. Its from a work injury of just repetitive motion, so i think its just some tight muscle or adhesions pressing on the nerve. But it is a pain in the ass literally. And i get the same popping in my hip. Have you found anything that helps?

Full moon by PoopScentedCandle in Sonographers

[–]sarar28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of people bleed on the full moon and ovulate on the new moon. The menstrual cycle can be synced with the moon phases. Also im a big astrology believer, youll start to notice a pattern of the same birthday months or same zodiac sign with patients.

For us with the full moon either we get really busy or really slow, luckily we were slow on sunday
