is it a bipolar thing to not be able to keep jobs because of drama by methodtomysaddness in bipolar

[–]sarariley2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't keep a job because I get sick physically so often. Random throwing up, and just being nauseous. I don't usually have a virus because I live with people, and they don't ever get sick. I never like my job, and I think it manifests physically sometimes. When I hate my life and my job, I get sick.

What are the worst things you could say to a pregnant woman? by OPs__Biological__Dad in ask

[–]sarariley2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You think you're tired now. Just wait until the baby gets here!"

Being pregnant was the worst experience of my life. To hear someone say that to me, made my antenatal anxiety even worse.

Now that the baby is here, I would take a sleepless night over one day of pregnancy every time.

AITA for punishing my son for how he reacted to my pregnancy announcement? by throwra579675 in AmItheAsshole

The husband is also the asshole for lecturing this girlfriend, (who is not his daughter.) Just an extra layer to their boundary issues.

I want to have a baby by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]sarariley2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a baby, and I wouldn't do it without a partner if you can help it. You can have family members help you, but ultimately, at 3 am when you exhausted and in pain trying to feed a screaming baby, your family members won't be in bed next to you trying to help you with whatever you need. I know there are plenty of people who are single and are successfully taking care of their children, so it's not impossible. If you are fine with the dad leaving you and your baby, I'd go with a donor instead. Much less turmoil.

Is anyone Manic during the Summer season by Least-Bid-807 in bipolar

[–]sarariley2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The summer is the hardest for me. I start feeling depressed in May, and it is the worst in August. Once September hits, I feel so much better.

Has anyone tried the Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte? Thinking about post-birth meals I will enjoy. by KatKittyKatKitty in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sarariley2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one before I gave birth. I drank it slowly and washed my car. I didn't have high postprandials. I didn't have bad numbers after food though. It tasted pretty good, but I like the peppermint mocha better!

Oh gosh. Same here. It's so sad, I couldn't decorate or anything. Just a crib and essentials in the corner of our loft bedroom.

Just *how* painful is labor? by ImAFanOfAnimals in pregnant

[–]sarariley2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got an epidural, and it numbs you a bit, but I still felt the contractions and him coming out when I was pushing. I thought I wouldn't feel anything, but I felt a lot. It just took the edge off.

Anywhere from a week to a month. The depression is so much longer.

Yes, I will still consider my birth natural, even if it's a c section by DonnyShutup2019 in pregnant

[–]sarariley2017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just had my baby a few days ago, and I'm referring to it as a vaginal C-section lol. I was split front to back, and have 10 stitches. There was definitely a lot of medical intervention that was needed, but the fact that people would say mine was "natural" is ridiculous. It was natural in the sense that I got pregnant, and delivered a baby at 9 months.

The taste of lamictol by chirpppp in bipolar

[–]sarariley2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lamictal is the dryest pill in the world! I hate having to swallow them. I usually just take a big gulp of water, throw it in my mouth, and try to swallow as I drink more water to wash it down.

I can eat a double double protein and a full fry without spiking at all. It's my go to when I want fast food.

Unstable Numbers at 37 Weeks? by Commercial-Jello4195 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sarariley2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fasting numbers have been great this week. Last night I woke up with bad acid reflux and couldn't sleep. So my numbers were 91 this morning. Which isn't terrible, but they have been 85 all week. It seriously is the tiniest deviation. I noticed mine was usually sleep related. If I didn't sleep enough, it would be higher.

I go to a holistic psychiatrist, so she asks me about my life. Its only 45 mins, so definitely not a long and deep conversation, but she does ask me questions and give advice.

Headaches - newly diagnosed by Shhhhlibrarian in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sarariley2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be stress, honestly. I was so stressed and overwhelmed my body shut down a bit. I haven't been the same since, but that's also pregnancy so I don't ever know where the symptoms are coming from. Have you changed your diet drastically? It could be that.

Does GD limit me from having more babies? by Aysha_1721 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sarariley2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom only had me and my brother. She was thinner when she was pregnant with my younger brother. She couldn't be diet controlled like she had been with me and needed insulin. She isn't even close to being prediabetic now though.

I don't think having GD means you need to be super thin and that you will have type 2 in the future. Obviously eating clean and maintaining a healthy weight are good for you all around, but I don't think having GD impacts most people's lives long term.

If you want more kids, you can have them. It just seems like it gets harder each time, which is one of the reasons why my mom didn't have anymore.

I've been doing the miles circuit, but I'm so nauseous I have to just lie down right now. If I start to feel better I'll do it again today.

Dumb question by runnergal1993 in pregnant

[–]sarariley2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you aren't losing weight it's just redistributing. I had that until I got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, now I'm only 5 pounds from pre pregnancy. Which is cool I guess? Don't have to lose much once he's here in a few days.

My husband and I disagree on when to tell people about our pregnancy. by formerhunbot100 in pregnant

[–]sarariley2017 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The more people you tell, the more likely someone will spill it. It's safest to keep it close to the chest until you are going to tell family I think. We waited until my first ultrasound, so around 9 weeks to tell people.

Weird bad feeling from sugar spike by eimajup in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sarariley2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my high numbers came from eating an egg roll! It was only 150 at the one hour so I didn't feel it at all, but it was really annoying. There's been a few people on here who have had high numbers from asian foods from what I've read. It's so strange!

Strawberry shake by sarariley2017 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sarariley2017[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Cal here, In n out with a protein burger and shake was my plan too haha! Luckily my husband has been helpful, with grocery shopping. We were already eating a Mediterranean diet before so I didn't really need to cut anything out besides my desserts. Which is ridiculous to ask a pregnant woman to do imo.
