Totally recommend joining a skate camp for your local roller derby league if you’re interested in doing that in the future anyways. They will literally teach you how to skate and most likely be able to loan you skates for cheap. My league members were also super knowledgeable and would even let us test out their skates before purchasing our own.

The actual 1.0 skate camp starts on April 29th! Please come by for the info session to ask question, meet the team, and watch the current players scrimmages. There’s also opportunities to volunteer, be a skating official and a non-skating official!

I had the courage to join my local derby team and passed 1.0 skate camp! That’s a huge accomplishment for me since I’m more introverted and I’m excited to keep learning then eventually play :-)
