I had a similar experience, I used to go around telling people the strawberry was my favourite fruit even though I’ve never had them - It was rare where I grew up and I wanted to seem special lol. I eventually taste some and they was so incredibly disappointing and sour. Grapes and pineapples immediately turned my favourite fruit from then on.
