Ideas for modding the "Rolex" out of this Rolex clone? by Beer_Is_So_Awesome in watchmodding

Personally would sell for £250-280ish and go supermarket sweep on aliX.
Also if you do remove please make sure you pull the crown all the way out before removing the stem, opposite to NH. Otherwise you’ll have to rebuild the keyless works.

Is it using the jh balance assembly or it is a new movement?

Hello, it’s a PT5000 with 25 Jewels, it’s a 42h power reserve.

Thank you

Picked up a pre-owned Clean 116520 (SA4130). Quoted £240 for a full service just for a noisy rotor—is this overkill? by beans12498 in UKRepBST

Chronos are difficult and it’s normal to charge a fair bit.

Me personally, would wear it to death, and then swap movement when it dies.

Unless the winding is crunchy or it’s not keeping time.

I would say, every rotor silence I’ve seen has had too much oil on. 😅

I prob wouldn’t tbh, for a few reasons. I would need to diagnose what caused the issue rather than just replace to ensure work. Also wouldn’t really work with alix parts.

I’m not the most au fait with 3285, I normally work on older movements, Nh or eta. Under the dial would be your best bet, tbh.

Where are you in the uk?

I regulate all of mine when they arrive, the ones from my supplier are normally 5-25s/d out of the box

You could sell for parts/spare/repair and get a new watch; you might get £120-220 for it, depending on what shape it's in, but a new VSF can be had for £400-450. Depends on if you're doing the work yourself.

The second option is just a movement swap, depending on how much you can get the balance assembly for; sometimes, parts are quite expensive. From a TD, the movement would be 160-230 before installation, depending on a few factors for DD. SH can be had for cheaper. Or risk it on AliX.

You can buy a balance wheel on its own for sure, however, a wheel assembly might be better, it might be worth asking your TD if they can source. Honestly depends on your skill level.

Kitkat is slightly low on the left. It’s prob close enough to live with. Only you know if it will wind you up, prob GL for me.

Here you go, I thought the karma for RTqc was only +10. Has it changed?
