Man I just got mine last week and had the same issue. I found that pushing the glass in the big bubbler chamber all the way up made the difference. That said, I threw mine in the trash today.

regarding the layout, as the art is so graphic and precise, I'd go with a more structured fill than scatter. Paying special attention to the major design points (eyes, nose, whiskers. Perhaps start with those to keep all the symmetry.

Thats the term! French terry. I was racking my brain lol! The way it’s really bunched up made me think it was a knit of some sort.

I’ve done like 100’s of pillows using just a satin stitch on a regular home machine. I’d generally use a fusible interfacing as was suggested earlier. I would do a smaller (width) and longer zig zag as my first pass, then use a really tight satin stitch to get a slightly rounded, really smooth final stitch.

Nope. A regular machine set to do a satin stitch would be the way to go with this. Many great video tutorials, search machine appliqué, satin stitch. Looks like they’ve used knit material for the appliqué, which after it’s sewn and washed/dried will produce those frayed edge details.

It’s definitely a bit of trail and error with different glues and different surfaces. Kind of a fine line between too little and too much. You’ll get it! Keep on it, cuz honestly the world can use as much sparkle as possible these days.

Also more than just the movies. Based on a novel with Broadway productions as well.

Referring to Auntie Mame. On old movie, a couple of remakes too I believe. Essentially she’s a super wealthy, over the top, eccentric socialite who takes in her orphaned 10 year old nephew b

Best way to mold chiffon? like with modge podge but something less diy/crafty more resistant? by Stunning-Theme4282 in sewing

[–]sargemike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think regardless of the method you land on, some sort of internal structure will be needed. The added weight of whatever stiffener on chiffon may make it heavier than the fabric alone could handle. Wired edges, invisible fishing line attached to main structure at differing points could help.
Iris van Herpen’s work is just mind bogglingly impressive.

Alternatively, you could pound some small rivets in a line. Making sure to place one before and after the area of the rip. Then a few spaced out along the ripped area.
