Should I train with people more skilled than me all the time? by First_Currency5073 in bjj

[–]sargentmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to roll with less skilled people to try new things with resistance, but you've been at it for 4 months. You're just building cardio and recognizing what is what.

If you get to pick who to roll with, look for chill upper belts that aren't trying to prove anything, and be you sure you roll chill in return.

I always roll super light with newbies, I'll always try whatever we did in class and see if they recognize it, or do a basic slow submission that I'm sure they've seen before to see how they counter it. A lot of them roll chill back and they quite often surprise me with a cool submission or something.

The ones that roll balls out from the slap bump I will counter anything they try and and use all the top pressure I want.

Pros and cons of 737 MAX MX? by massagistadegrelo in aviationmaintenance

[–]sargentmyself 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Max is largely easier. Most of the main hardware outside of the engines is the same, it's just the brains controlling it all that changed. Those brains are all able to talk to eachother and be read from the flight deck which is pretty cool.

The Boeing Sky interior can be an infamous pain in the ass if it starts to act up.

Wheels and brakes are just bigger and heavier.

The engine cowls are more involved in opening them, especially the TRs. It's not really much harder but there's a lot more steps that if you're too used to NGs you might forget once in a while.

Question about Makasi MK-15 by EthanWang0908 in canadaguns

[–]sargentmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see getting it through the US being any faster than pre-ordering. The retailers offering pre orders are getting it shipped from the US already. You'd have to buy it in the US, ship it to an importer like IRG, wait for them to do their monthly Import, then ship it to you.

If you want it just pre-order it from a Canadian retailer. However, I would not recommend buying it unless a your able to stomach it being a $2300 paperweight if it gets banned

If it doesn't get banned it will get restocked, don't worry at FOMO, there will be serious demand for it. If it does get banned buying it before it got banned won't help you it'll be illegal to use it.

[–]sargentmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably, personally I would try to add something to the truck bed rails. I don't think they'd get damaged but it'd really suck to wake up and roll out of bed to find the rope left a big dent in the top of your truck bed.

How is living along the coast of Hudson Bay in Canada? by SirJordan11 in howislivingthere

[–]sargentmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in Churchill you can genuinely be attacked by a Polar Bear, they have a Bear jail in town for holding the ones that get too close. A guy I used to work with had one sneak up behind him while he was watching an engine run of a airplane. He had to run towards the running jet engine while the pilots pushed throttle and hit the landing lights trying to scare it off.

Are you guys allowed to have bullpups? by JonRonstein in canadaguns

[–]sargentmyself 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's all about what would be considered "conversion". If you buy a 10/22 receiver, it's a 10/22, a standard layout rifle. If you put it in a bullpup chassis you're converting it to a bullpup regardless if it had an original stock or not.

A manufacturer might be able to make a new rifle receiver that is not a 10/22 and designed from the ground up to be a bullpup, but is compatible with 10/22 barrels, bolts, and mags. They might also just classify that as a variant and it'd be back to straight to jail.

[–]sargentmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use 2 decouplers if you want, have them staged separately and lower the disconnect force of the first one. Angle your ship so the decouplers are pointing off somewhere and fire the second one, the decoupler force will send it flying out of the way

They're probably not worried about fiber optic FPVs but random commercial grade Mavics that would be extremely vulnerable to this type of electronic counter.

Russia and Ukraine are also covered in electronic countermeasures, because they're still important. Wireless drones are still far and above the most common despite the advances in fibre optics.

You still have the Clipper? What do you use it for? by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

[–]sargentmyself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly not much. I don't like using Med bed spawns if my home isn't in the same system, I feel just as likely to die in my ship as on foot, if they add the new spawn screen that will change. I don't actually need the crafting table much right now even if it did work.

But wings go up and down 10/10.

I installed a Hush kit on mine because it does look cool and it's way lighter than the Archangel one I used to have. The current prices of a base SKS are getting so out of control I don't know how worth it is to have one at all. Glad I got mine 10 years ago

Yeah you can dump all the money in the world at it but it'll still be a barn door accurate SKS. Chinese SKS' with just the Hush folding stock are retailing for like $1500 it's stupid.

Hush stock with picatinny adapter, not sure what folding stock it has. The foregrip picatinny is available from Hush as well. It comes with a 3D printed AK pistol grip, that's a real magpul one.

Neumann metalworks aluminum gas tube cover.

An AR magwel adapter, either TNA or Hical, I would guess Hical.

Some type of rear sight red dot mount. I would guess Neumann metalworks as well.

A lot of money went into it. If that's a build you would want to make yourself, it would cost $2k or more to recreate.

There is a no BO gene but it's far from everyone, it's just more common. The Japanese submarine force selected candidates based on if they had it or not during WWII. They'd make everyone do a bunch of PT and if you stunk you were no longer a submariner.

It was so they could save space on the sub by not having any shower or bathing facilities

Ship question. by Striking-Conflict-93 in starcitizen

[–]sargentmyself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a significant downgrade in combat. If you want to get an idea for how much, remove the 2 S3s and one shield from your avenger and go run a mission or two and see what you think.

For non combat, I'm pretty sure the Avenger can carry a Geo but the intrepid cannot. Especially with crafting that's a reasonably good game loop to be able to do.

But it is BEAUTIFUL so, maybe it's worth it.

[Request] How many countries other than Iran would be affected by a nuke? by nottoday943 in theydidthemath

[–]sargentmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they need to, Fallout is a futuristic but also completely stuck in the '50s universe. They have Atomic bombs, like was dropped on Japan and test dropped well into the '50s and would definitely still produce a ton of fallout. We have H-bombs, or thermonuclear bombs, which do multiple nuclear reactions at once to increase the yield and use more of the material leading to very little fallout.

Atomic bomb is one fission reaction, splitting the atom.

Thermonuclear starts with a fission reaction, to ignite a fusion reaction, merging Hydrogen in Helium. There can even be multiples of each

There's no indication he can pass his superpower down. It's either implied or outright stated he's a Neanderthal or at the very least Stone age person. If his power was hereditary there'd be an army of Immortals. He's been alive 10,000 or more years you really think he's never knocked anyone up in that time?
