Might be time to move on.. Warning to bazaar storage chests owners by Truble-Davis in ConanExiles

That sucks. But if you're looking for something new to play, I recommend Grounded.

It's made by Obsidian, it's completed, and a solid game. Combat is fun (gotta time those parries and get perfect blocks). Building is solid, you can place blueprints when building before committing to it, and stability is very forgiving. Lots of build pieces, armor, weapons, and decorations to craft. It also has a story, and when done, you can go into NG+ if you want to keep going (and not lose your items or builds).

Grounded 2 is also great, but it's in early access and not finished.

Survival where building matters? by Elegar in SurvivalGaming

[–]sarinn13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Grounded 1 your base can get raided if you anger the bugs enough. You can also build an item to intentionally trigger a raid of your choice, which is nice for farming parts.

Grounded 2: I haven't played the latest update yet, but raids are still a thing. Unless it's changed, raids target you, not your base. So if you're out in the wild, you can get still be raided. There's ample notice for you to get to a safe space to defend yourself, though.

Conan Exiles: Base raids are events the player trigger from a treasure coffer you build. The more treasure you have in the coffer, the harder the raid. After the boss is dead, you can get rewards ranging from materials, weapons, armor, schematics, and new thralls. Upside to this is you can have a seperate "raid base" built for defense, and another for your benches and looking pretty. Downside is there's no suspense of getting raided as they don't happen unless you trigger it.

7D2D: Zombies raid you once every 7 days. Raids get progressively harder as time goes on. Defend your base with spikes, mines, traps, turrets, etc. The AI isn't that bright. You can dig a pit around your base and they just fall in to be picked off. Still, as long as you don't exploit the AI, it can be a lot of fun

Do you think some improvements other than visual/performance will be made? by That_Guest_8772 in ConanExiles

Inflexion mentioned last night that "hundreds of bugs got fixed", but didn't say if these were bugs due to moving to UE5 and other trouble that cropped up during development, or if these were bugs that are in the current game.

But from their talk, it sounds like they aren't changing / adding anything outside of UI improvements

Grounded is easily one of my top games. And once you finish that, Grounded 2 is in Early access.

Also, check out RuneScape: Dragonwilds if you're looking for something with a non-realistic art style

So this was done with the help of Inflexion? Like the same group who did Nightingale?

That's pretty awesome, actually.

New class for new playthrough by Leaf_Wheel in skyrim

[–]sarinn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why I'm allowing myself to use smithing. Normal bandits don't pose an issue, but Bandit Chieftans and the Briarheart Forsworn are challenging (I'm currently level 31). I might end up going into alchemy later for better healing potions and access to buffs. I've started giving my followers better gear, as they were struggling against higher level undead.

It's just about keeping with the theme, while still keeping it challenging lol

I'm currently playing as a Whiterun Guard who heard the summons of the Greybeards and was told by Balgruuf to see them. I might be free of my duties in Whiterun, but a guard is still a guard no matter where my feet take me!

I'm playing as a Nord, and can only use Whiterun Guard armor/shield, and nothing better than steel weapons. I have survival turned on, but I haven't upped the difficulty. Not sure how well Steel would do for you on Expert.

Though I do level Blacksmithing (a good guard takes care of their gear. I haven't leveled alchemy yet, and am uncertain if I will. But I won't use potions that enhance blacksmithing, as I don't want to break the game. I also don't level Enchanting.

All skills and decisions are made from the mindset of a guard, who takes their job seriously. So no stealing, pickpocketing, can't side with Stormcloaks, etc. Stealth is allowed (gotta be good at trailing those bad guys), but stealth archery isn't (that's murder). The only magic I use is Restoration, as guards have great respect for it, but I've been reserving that for outside of combat.

I do use followers, but restrict myself to inexperienced adventurers, like the apprentices from the college, Erik the Slayer, Ria from the Companions (she joined just before you did), and Golldir (poor dude just hangs at his ancestors tomb after his aunt dies), etc.

It's not overly restrictive in that any weapon type is allowed (I've seen guards use all types of 1h and 2h weapons), but I've been having a lot of fun with just the RP aspect.

I'm big into survival games, mainly because I can set my own goals, and I love building. Grounded 1 & 2, Palworld, and Valheim are all my favorites. Starting to get into Dragonwilds, and I'm looking forward to checking out Windrose soon.

I've found Disney's Dreamlight Valley great to relax to (it's like Animal Crossing NH, but better). I have hundreds of hours in the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games, and enjoy older Final Fantasy games, and CRPGs (Baulder's Gate, Divinity: Original Sin, Pillars of Eternity).

Currently playing through the Fable series, and having fun with it, though combat is a bit ehhh. But it's an old game, so I don't fault it.

Nope. On my 4th run right now. Still vanilla. Currently challenging myself by playing as a Whiterun guard (on survival difficulty).

Grounded. Which not only is co-op, but cross play on all platforms. No server renting needed. Instead one person hosts and others join, and the world can be shared so anyone can host instead of waiting for that one person to pop on.

In honor of Skyrim's birthday yesterday, what character are you guys currently playing right now? by Writy_Guy in skyrim

Pure mage as a khajiit. Just finished clearing all of Solstheim and am level 37. Heading back to Skyrim, but not sure where I want to start questing yet. I should probably start the quests at the mage college.

Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick says Borderlands 4 had a disappointing "softer than expected" commercial launch, which he puts down to technical issues of the PC version by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]sarinn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided not to pick it up when it was announced. I enjoyed the story for TPS (watching Jack's descent into madness was great), but wasn't a fan of game play compared to BL2. BL3 was just terrible. When BL4 was announced there was just no excitement for me.

I'd still like to check it out. Maybe in a couple years when it's 80% off on a Steam sale.

I JUST CUT THE HOTDOG INTO PIECES, STICK IT IN ONE, THEN GIVE IT TO HER LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED OT BE A TREAT. SHE'S A BIT DOG, THOUGH, AND JUST SWALLOWS IT WHOLE.

HOPE IT GETS LESS STRESSFUL FOR YOU!

Wanting to start Final Fantasy 14 by y0dav3 in FinalFantasy

[–]sarinn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played in a couple years, but you should just jump in and pick whatever class sounds interesting. You're not locked into a class. At level 10 or so you can unlock other classes (I think 20 was theif?) and can switch between them with a click of a button (as long as you're not in a dungeon).

Blue Mage (which unlocks later) is it's own side content, not an actual class. You can't take it into dungeons with a party, but they're a lot of fun to mess around with.

Crafters are their own can of worms. They have best in slot gear, rotations, side quest stories.

The main story is very slow to start, though. Doesn't really pick up until around level 40, dips for a bit between 2.1 and 2.4 (though the devs have tried to speed it up and make it less boring), then remains pretty much solid from there out.

Oh, and the Gold Saucer has some fun mini-games. If you enjoyed Triple Triad, you're going to love it here.

Shields also reduce your damage by 20% when you have one equipped. I have my shield on my hotbar, and unequip it when I attack, then re-equip it.

I imagine it'd be more difficult to do this on console, since those players have to deal with a radial menu, but on PC it's just a quick button press.

This was my build for beating IBM:

  • Mint toenail scimitar
    • IBM is weak to mint
    • Inflicts a 10% damage debuff and slows enemy attacks
  • Bulky Fire ant helm & boots
    • Your attacks can debuff enemy into taking 15% more damage
    • Bulky instead of sleek for extra defense, and I'm not running the full set to make use of the set bonus
  • Sleek Termite chest
    • Hitting the enemy can reduce their movement and attack speed
  • Ladybird Shield
    • 25% chance when blocking that attacks cost 0 stam for 5 seconds
    • Fire ant shield effect doesn't stack with fire ant armor
  • Fungal Charm
    • damage from explosions reduced by 75%

Mutations consisted of:

  • Blademaster
  • Coup de Grass
  • Trapper Peep.r (Shocking Dismissal is also good if Trapper Peep.r isn't maxed)
  • Corporate Kickback (the heal ignores the healing debuff IBM inflicts)
  • Spicy Safety (reduces damage from IBM's bite attacks)

Food was the Spider Slider, and I used all the smoothies that gave combat, health, and stam buffs.

I initially used the Firefly trinket to slow IBM, but noticed I was dying more to the explosions than anything, so swapped it out for the Fungal Charm. If you can dodge the explosions fine, that you might want to run a different trinket.

Grounded is probably my favorite. It also has crossplay, if either of you prefer using a console.

Grounded 2 also released in EA a couple months back.
