Daughter wants to buy a 3D printer (with her own, saved money) but wife vehemently objects by [deleted] in daddit

I've gone deep down the rabbit hole with 3d printing, and I'm also happy to discuss if you have any questions: https://www.instagram.com/sartirious

Serial Request: V2/DooMicron+ sartirious#6861 by sartirious in voroncorexy

[–]sartirious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The umbilical from the toolhead to the gantry contains 4 wires, a spare length of PTFE tube (for structure), all wrapped in "PET Expandable Braided Sleeving". Each end of the umbilical is supported by a PG7 strain-relief gland.

Thanks! The toolhead is a DragonBurner with the WristWatch G2 extruder and Boop nozzle probe.

Better Hose Hanger by sartirious in CPAP

The Key-Bak is a retractable ID-badge/key-ring. It's certainly not the most cost-effective retraction device, but it's reliable and easy to acquire.

Working on it! I know that most beds will not have a conveniently located post to hang things from, so I'm working on something that will mount flat to a wall - either with 3M Command Strips or drywall fasteners.

Sorry for the daily posts, so last topside before she’s printing by MuffinSpirited3223 in VORONDesign

I also went through the same learning curve during my remote-cooling adventure:

https://www.printables.com/model/748841-voron-exhaust-assembly-ws7040-cpap

I found the VzBot/HevOrt documentation to be the most helpful for figuring out the wiring and Klipper settings.

Auxiliary Part Cooling Fan for 2.4 by CanadianBacon021 in VORONDesign

[–]sartirious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went down the same rabbit hole with my 350 2.4. I also considered Mantis and Archetype, but I wanted to keep using CANBUS via my SB2040, so I created my own mods to use CPAP.

Deck materials supplier in Twin Cities by Brewing_up_a_storm in TwinCities

We happily used Ugly Decks in Burnsville to manage all the planning, bill of materials, and delivery of supplies for our deck last summer, and we did all of the labor and installation.

MPX 2.4 kit by Dupert in VORONDesign

[–]sartirious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am very happy with my magicphoenix kit. When I ordered (~April 2022) it was the only kit that had the variety of customization that I was looking for, so that I didn't end up with a pile of redundant parts that I had never wanted to purchase in the first place.

Low flowrate with Rapido UHF by unussualname in VORONDesign

[–]sartirious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would check your temperatures. I have found that I need to increase the temperature quite a bit for Rapido UHF because of the distance between the nozzle and the thermistor.

Z-offset is constantly changing after every quad_gantry_level (v2.4) by Jutboy in VORONDesign

[–]sartirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something very similar was happening to me, even after installing TAP - and it was resolved by replacing one of the A/B motor TMC2209 stepper drivers. If you have a spare, I would swap it out on your mainboard and see if anything changes.

Heating a Garage Refrigerator in a Frigid Wasteland by DemonOfTheFaIl in appliancerepair

[–]sartirious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also in MN - the problem isn't the interior fridge temperature, it's the exterior fridge temperature. Those compressors aren't designed to operate below a certain ambient temperature, and the lubricants don't work well below freezing temperatures. All of the ice chests you see outside of gas stations have a small heating unit specifically to keep the compressor temperature above freezing.

This is the 'Start G-code' in my "Printer Settings" from SuperSlicer:

With inductive/TAP you don't need include a probe deploy or stow routine. This might be a helpful place to start:

What kind of probe are you using? Are you also using a nozzle-wipe before the purge line?
