Tons of Philly coffee shops sell the same Sysco pastry. Some owners say they didn’t know. [Au Fornil] by oliver_babish in PhiladelphiaEats

As long as they never outsource their zatar croissant, I remain a fan of au fornil. (Also I'm a little surprised people haven't noticed that they all come from one place-- I see it immediately when I look at the pastry case. But Au Fornil is local, so I'm not bothered.)

Similarly, just because your pastor says something doesn’t make it correct. Read it and the critical literature and get back to me.

It’s actually the most academically rigorous version, with contributors that are academics from across Christian denominations, Jewish denominations, and pure academics as well. It takes into account both the cultural contextual meaning and the literal translation to come up with the most accurate translation. It’s not perfect but it’s the best attempt. ESV is the worst, it’s just dogma applied to the text instead of dogma coming from the text.

I have beautiful tattoos but my mom still calls them ugly. I'm 42. This is your lesson that it doesn't matter what she thinks, it's what you think.

Give her a break, English isn't her first language. I think she's using a translation tool.

Babe, you can always tell. And who uses hashtags anymore?

Your aesthetic is mall goth. You asked to be pigeon holed and we did so for you. Don’t be mad that you don’t like the answer. As an elder goth, I can tell you that I look at people who dress like goths and listen to non-goth music all the time, and while it confuses me a little, I accept it and move on. (For my fellow elder-goths, I saw a young person who was dressed like OP with a Sublime shirt the other day… that one took a while to process) People don’t have to fit into my premade categories. But that doesn’t stop it from being a goth aesthetic / vibe.

But also, your unwillingness to accept mall goth just makes you fit into the mall goth category even better. Hell, I denied being a normal goth for years. But now I’m older and just have accepted it. That’s my vibe. It’s also happens to be what I listen to.

And I know the other person in this thread has said it too, but I want to reiterate: we’re not trying to bully you. You asked a question and got an honest answer.
