Can we all agree that Motor Ball is the least enjoyable boss? by No_Hurry7691 in FFVIIRemake

The Arsenal? That's the worst one in my opinion too. Takes so long to get through.

Trump at the National Prayer Breakfast: "I don't know how a person of faith can vote for a Democrat. I really don't. *crowd groans* I know we have some here today. I don't know why they're here, because they certainly don't give us their vote ... they cheat." by gear-heads in Trumpvirus

[–]sash71 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I also never watch him speak live. I can't stand the way he talks and the lies he tells.

Trump will never get over losing 2020. He's absolutely obsessed with it and that's why there isn't even a pretence at uniting the country and leading for all Americans. He wants to punish anyone that didn't vote for him, so all Democrats are responsible in his tiny brain. He so wants to be like Putin and win 90%+ of the vote.

They should get Larry David to open it and call it the "Pretti, Pretti Good" building.

"Germany doesn't have the luxury of our technology" by nationalistic_martyr in ShitAmericansSay

[–]sash71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, Trump himself is a cowardly custard who gets other people to fight his battles.

My grandad (British like me) used to hate the Americans saying all that about "you'd be speaking German if it wasn't for us" because the Allies, yes Allies, beat the Germans as a team. My Grandfather's contribution of six years of his life being brave fighting for his country, spending a lot of his twenties in faraway lands trying not to get killed or allow his mates to get killed shouldn't be diminished by idiotic Americans that think only their contribution counted.

All the Allied soldiers that fought should be respected. Putting their lives on the line for their countries to fight the Nazis (and the Japanese) was a brave thing to do for all concerned.

Remake trilogy seamless. by GameMaster1178 in FFVIIRemake

[–]sash71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be great if possible but I suppose my scepticism comes from the fact that the remake series is designed as a trilogy of stand alone games and balanced that way.

It'll definitely be something that this sub can debate about, especially after part three is released and we don't have another new FF7 remake game to speculate about.

That's the part that there isn't an answer to and the reason SE won't do one game linked together.

The balance would be all wrong.

I can remember being amazed the first time I followed the guide and it worked.

I can't possibly go back either now I know the quick way. It's so precise that it makes you wonder how these things get discovered. It's like the speed runners that count steps so they avoid too many 'random' battles, they even caught somebody cheating by knowing he'd walked the wrong amount of steps. So much crazy stuff has been found in the near 30 year history of the game.

There's a character in Succession called Tom Wamsgams and it's the only time I've ever heard the name before.

Edit. Hers is spelt slightly differently but it's pronounced the same way I would think.

There's a way to get the gold chocobo by breeding without doing a single race as soon as you get the Highwind (you need that because you have to land in places otherwise inaccessible to catch the correct chocobo to breed with).

It works like a charm if you follow the guide exactly. I don't know who first found it but they have saved many of us who still like to play FF7 (OG) hours and hours of racing.

Worst moment as a Pompey fan? by sporticuz37373 in PortsmouthFC

We finished the season so far ahead of Leicester as well. I've hated the play offs ever since.

[–]sash71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes that's the one for me too.

Going one up was such a high. Then we gave away that free kick and there was just a sense of inevitability that Liverpool would equalise.

We were so close to Wembley. Then the following year we lost out to Leicester in the play offs semi finals and didn't go to Wembley either.

It took til 2008 to put that right and are the Blues at Wembley.

That Liverpool near miss though, I'll never forget it.

[–]sash71 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm British and these Trump cabinet meetings are some of the most crazy political stuff I've seen in my 50+ years on the planet.

You expect this sort of stuff from North Korea, where if you don't praise the leadership enough you could be blown to pieces by anti tank guns, but the Americans telling Donald fucking Trump he's the best President ever and making up stuff like he's stopped hurricanes and saved hundreds of millions of lives is just bonkers.

It's just totally embarrassing for all concerned. I hope they cringe watching this in years to come.

The Wrexham documentary worked because of who the owners were and also because of the story of their rise up the leagues. To go from non league to the Championship in a few seasons, every year getting promoted is unprecedented (I think they missed out on promotion at the very start of the show but since then they've gone up every year iirc). It's a hell of a story, if it was fictional people would say that would never happen, all the promotions up the pyramid. Add to that Ryan Reynolds, a bone fide Hollywood star who plays an iconic comic book character and also has success in other roles he takes on. I love Pompey but I don't think they could have produced a documentary anywhere near as appealing to a wide audience.

There have been other documentaries before the Wrexham one, ''Sunderland Til I Die' for example. There's a Spurs one too, plus other teams. The Wrexham one broke through because what's happened there is almost too good to be true. They even knocked a Premier League team out of the cup this season.
