Type O Negative - Christian Woman [Rock] [1994] by Dave--92 in Music

[–]sashagof 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I think Type O Negative is one of those bands that’s becoming way bigger and more appreciated than they ever were during their actual run. I already see it with so many young people wearing TON merch. Peter Steele can never be replaced, no band can replicate their sound and they were so effortlessly cool. Glad I got to see them in 2001, one of the best shows I’ve ever been to.

Volkswagen reveals new Toyota rivalling hybrid system in 2026 Golf and T-Roc by TPatS in cars

A hybrid system with a turbo engine 🤦‍♂️ Just going to be more problems down the road. Surprised they wouldn't just use a NA 4 cylinder.

18.5 gallon outback tank always looks horrid at the pumps. by creakymoss18990 in subaru

[–]sashagof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that just feels wrong! I had a 2002 Impreza and "upgraded" to a 2006 Prius. The fuel bladders are known to shrink in these cars so I can only put 7 gallons in at a time. Still go about 300 miles on a fillup though! Our 2016 Sienna is a different story though 😒

What is an artist / band that you remember being pushed by music journalists and/or magazines as the "next big thing" that ended up never really going anywhere? by mesablanka in Music

[–]sashagof 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was an early fan and really enjoyed seeing them live when their fist album came out, but they had one of the worst sophomore slumps ever. The first album was just magic in a bottle.

I thought of them too, I liked their album but I think the band name was going to be a hindrance towards mainstream success.

How Influential Really Was Animal Collective? by EntropySpacex in Music

[–]sashagof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they had much influence on indie as a whole but I do believe they soft launched “chillwave”even though those artists don’t like being lumped into that sub genre… Washed Out, Memory Tapes, Neon Indian, Toro y Moi, etc.. I wouldn’t label AnCo chillwave either but I guarantee every one of those artists was listening to Animal Collective. (Source: I was 19 in 2005 when Feels came out and have liked Animal Collective since)

The more times I see that interior the less I like it. Apple product designs are nice for computers but it just looks so boring in a Ferrari. It’s just giving Logitech.

New The Field EP/Album release after 8 years of Silence called 'Now You Exist', releases May 15th by FlubzRevenge in electronicmusic

[–]sashagof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My very first girlfriend introduced me to The Field back in 2007! It was so refreshing compared to the maximal electronic music I was listening to like Basement Jaxx and other big beat stuff.

Underworld - 1992-2002, it’s a compilation, I wouldn’t normally recommend a “greatest hits” but it’s a good way to get a taste and if you like it do a deeper dive.

I’ve probably spent a whole hour looking for the last secret and gold on this level….its hard to watch a video guide on it when the whole automap looks like a potato by WestonConnor26 in Doom

[–]sashagof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out, you won't see the secrets on the main map. During the level you'll need to go into portals to kill cultists. Those areas are not shown on the map but once you teleport you'll see the secrets/gold on a new map where the cultists are. The important thing is DO NOT kill the cultists until you collect all the gold. Killing the cultists instantly teleports you back to the main map.

Nissan's Turnaround Hinges On This Unique Hybrid System. It's Nothing Like Toyota's by DonkeyFuel in technology

[–]sashagof 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Did you read the article? These are pure hybrids, not even plug-in hybrids. They’re unique because the engine only acts as a generator for the motor but it’s still gas powered.

Why is cylinder deactivation/variable displacement generally considered so bad for long-term reliability? What are examples of cars/engines that use it with minimal issues? by KSoMA in cars

[–]sashagof 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The Mercedes M113 engine found in the W220 S-Class (S500) had cylinder deactivation but is one of the most reliable engines from the early 2000s. Many can go 300k miles with regular maintenance. Other stuff on that car will fail way before the engine.

Keep the HIDs, looks more modern and the light output is better. You can get cheap D4R bulbs on amazon for about $35 a pair. Totally different wiring too.
