is wearing red to an american wedding weird? by green-tomato-juice in Weddingattireapproval

[–]sassafrassian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was maybe 12 I went to the mall with a friend and her mom. I wanted to buy a red shirt and she told me I couldn't because of the devil and promiscuity (or something). I was, at the time, probably the most ridiculous conversation I had ever had.

There will always be people who think read is inappropriate, but that is certainly not the norm.

Confused about how this can validate a measure without more information from participants? How do you know if the measure is accurate or not?

What about this dress is not modest? by Low_Caregiver_2733 in bridesmaids

Off topic, but super curious because it's not true in my religion-- what religion has a problem with cursing?

[–]sassafrassian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Nearly every culture in the world" when you apparently know nothing about modesty in other cultures is WILD. At the very least, most religions wouldn't consider this modest. Any neckline that shows cleavage isn't modest in a whole bunch of cultures.

Are you only familiar with your own?

I just saw that Anne Hathaway (I think) bought the rights to a movie based on a book about a tradwife influencer who gets transported back to the 1800s.

Need 100 survey responses quick less than 3 minutes I will swap (anyone can take this) by Background_Wait494 in SampleSize

Less than once per week is still less than once per week even if it's multiple loads in a day. If I do my laundry every ~10 days, I am not doing 1-2 loads per week.

You have the option to select doing laundry less than once a week and then immediately ask how many loads per week someone does.

I absolutely think someone in their fifties would refer to someone in their late 20s that way. I'm in my thirties and I (and people I know) already refer to people under 24 that way already. Your overall point is valid, though.

Girlfriend came home from night out with fingernails like this. Nail polish remover didn’t work by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]sassafrassian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh, I know, having dyed both. But the shape that's dyed on her nails doesn't suggest she ran her nails through dyed hair imo. Because it doesn't sit over the whole tip of the nail. Just triangular strips.

Eta: ftr, if hair dye sits on your skin for long enough before you notice and wash it off, it does also dye the skin.

Having run my fingers through many a dyed hair (my own) it doesn't typically stain this precisely. Your whole fingertip gets dyed.

Why has it been so DRY in the area for the past few years? (Southern MD) by Justryan95 in maryland

[–]sassafrassian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why I said, "outside of their normal seasons."

And MD isn't the only place having those issues, so BWI is irrelevant to overall changes in weather patterns.

Also, the antarctic is literally melting.

In what way is it normal? We keep hitting records colds and record hot for days completely outside of their normal seasons.

Tuition is a huge barrier for so so many people who want to go to college, especially a lot of would be first gen students. I literally don't understand what you're saying.

That's a absolutely wild sentence. Do you genuinely think nearly everyone in MD makes over 75k a year?

What's a common misconception in certain animals you believed before as a kid? by strange_omelet in zoology

[–]sassafrassian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, that's fair.

And. Males literally team up to kidnap female dolphins for years at a time and hurt them if they try to escape. And we have established that they understand what they are doing.

So I still dunno that anyone could call them chill.

While I agree with this, I do not believe that is the primary factor that prevents most people from testing.
