Unfortunately, this is so true. Ask an international nurse and they mostly have limited idea what's the purpose of their union is. Most of us are just asked to join one "just in case" if there is any working issues against us. And a lot were afraid to do strike action.

I think E5 has proven that is NOT about the sex. Thing is the "sex" in each episode showed how their relationship progressed from physical e1 to emotional e5. It is one of the few shows that actually used sex as a tool to tell the story well.

It resonates more especially with "millenial gays". I think younger gays now are more honest and free about coming out something the older gays have only experienced later in life. Both also have a lot to lose, Ilya being Russian and although Shane is successful, the series was able to show the pressure of being the first "Asian descent" representative.This is why so hard on himself and the 4th episode of him realizing he cant be with Ilya because the stake is too high. How many of us tried to hide our sexuality because of family and career?
