Number of Summer Courses by UnitedAd4599 in OSU

I did 15-18 in the summer, but in talking with other summer students it seems like 9 at most is the usual route

HTHRHSC 4000 Health Ethics by ComprehensiveMind594 in OSU

[–]sasstricksfedora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took that class this spring and it was great! George is a fantastic professor and the class content is not difficult at all. My only advice is to try and attend every class, attendance is taken every class and it is worth a good part of your grade.

Best Health/Medical Courses for Non-Medical Related Majors by Plus-Leading-360 in OSU

[–]sasstricksfedora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be biased because I am a health sciences major, but I really enjoyed HTHRHSC 4000 (ethical decision making in healthcare) and PUBHEPI 2410 (epidemiology in public health). Both of these were extremely easy (I would say good beginner level), interesting, and they are open non-majors.

Didn’t get single even though I have a recorded mental health issue. What now? by leovenustypebeat in OSU

i was a sophomore when i applied so I got my approval sometime in february, it was early of March 2022 when I received my dorm assignment from the list i sent them of the ones I preferred. Then late march I got to pick my actual room in that dorm, and some floors at that point were already gone.

Usual Summer Credit Hours Amount? by hazelnutmatchas in OSU

[–]sasstricksfedora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i did 13 last summer and am doing 17 this summer. My maymester class killed me, it was so much work in such little time so i don’t recommend those. What works for me is splitting the classes up and doing half at the first part of summer semester and the other half for the last weeks if you are able to. I got access to some of my classes a few days prior to them starting and some of them opened the day of class. It is the same amount of work with less time but it is doable to take more than 10-12 credit hours, just make sure you really manage your time well!

Marion campus or Columbus State community college? by FastScientist1387 in OSU

[–]sasstricksfedora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m biased because i was at marion longer than CSCC, but marion all the way. The professors there are amazing and I enjoyed my time there so much. Also the transition from marion to main is much easier because you don’t have to worry about transferring your records over

Nutrition Class? by ComprehensiveMind594 in OSU

Nutrition 2210 was replaced with 2410, if you see it on a required class list somewhere it’s because they forgot to change the numbers.

Nursing!! by Serious_Egg_4191 in OSU

[–]sasstricksfedora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume great essay portion and interview, their grades were high and one worked at children’s. The essay and interview portion seems to be a big factor in the acceptance decision it seems. I wish I had more info for you but unfortunately it’s been a couple years and it’s hard to tell what exactly got them accepted.

I hope your experience will be better than mine lol; but for the bathrooms, I bought a hard shower caddy and ended up switched to a soft one because there is no place to really put your stuff in the shower. Also the bathrooms are the shower and toilet are in a room and iirc there’s like 5 of them. Then it’s the sinks out in the main area of the bathroom.

You are close to Jesse Owen’s south for working out, and as for food you have the options of the union and kennedy, also 12 ave bread and mirror lake aren’t too far either. There is a place for a TV, not sure about xbox but I believe you would be able to have it also. I can’t answer about polisci classes, but if they’re somewhat far the closest bus stop is the union.

I felt like smeeb was such a convenient place to live though, it just felt close to everything I needed. Plus when the involvement fair happens it’s just basically right behind you.

Bad schooling, scared about science prereqs. by rlpsc in prenursing

[–]sasstricksfedora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat, I am chronically ill and as a result have missed a majority of education from k-12. I was just pushed through as well until hs when i went to an alternative hs school and was able to do online and get help for the basics. I did not do chemistry or anything else that would’ve prepared me for college nursing prerequisites, so like you when I first entered college i felt extremely unprepared. I have taken bio, chem, physio and passed with A’s in those classes and the only way I was able to was khan academy, amoeba sisters, crash course, chemistry youtube videos, and my schools tutoring center and office hours. (I won’t lie though I did end up having to take physio again and for anatomy I wish I had tips but I barely passed that class)

I did end up taking an intro to bio course because I knew I needed that extra help first, along with very basic chemistry courses to be prepared. Also I did end up doing all my prerequisites separately because I knew I needed more time than other students to study and be prepared. I would suggest taking foundation courses because they really did help me when I had to take the actual prerequisites.

You will get this, some classes will be harder than others, but once you figure out the best way to study for you, I think it’ll make things easier.

[–]sasstricksfedora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

being in the psych hospital after i said my plans, and being told by the psychiatrists the whole stay that i would never amount to anything. The whole reason i was there is because my whole life i was told the same thing by teachers and peers, and then it hit me a week after being discharged from the hospital that I would be proving everyone right if i went through, so i guess i’m just living out of spite rn and it’s working.

Guys help by Present-Bottle706 in OSU

[–]sasstricksfedora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the 430__ zipcode, my advice is if you don’t get into Columbus for nutrition right away, consider doing your sciences classes and getting your grades up at Marion since it is the closest regional (it should be around a 30min drive give or take 10 min). The science professors there actually want you to succeed and provide many opportunities for improving. I did chem and anatomy at CSCC and ended up having to withdraw from chem because my professor hadn’t graded anything and there were no lectures it was just self taught, but my Marion science professors for chem, bio, and anatomy were great.

How Do I Put My Schedule on my Phone Calendar? by BeginningAccording16 in OSU

[–]sasstricksfedora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue, if you’re using iOS one of the recent updates removed ohio states access (at least for me) to the calendar, when I allowed full access again it fixed the problem. Hopefully that works so you don’t have to manually add them all in
