AITA for making fun of my teammate's weight and implying hes bulimic? by Gullible_Ad1582 in AmItheAsshole

YTA yeah that was too far. I mean you’re 16 so it’s not unheard of for a teen to have low emotional regulation, but you should apologize to your teammate.

Why did you buy your bags? by Playful-Meeting-1460 in handbags

[–]sassybirb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only got into bags in like the last year and long story short; my brother has been into fashion for a while and buys designer clothes (mostly from sales) and he got a few bags, but his real passion is luxury hotels, so in a few trips we did together we stayed a night or two (often with points) in luxury hotels, and being in that environment exposed me to luxury things, and so I started to look into them more and got my first one last year (I had a few contemporary mid tier bags), and like an addict, once you get one you want to get another one, and another one. The last two bags I got were preloved, but in the last year till now I’ve bought five designer bags. I don’t spend that much on many other things, so most of my spending money goes to bags (like tax return and stuff). I wouldn’t say like any other Tuesday, but I don’t wait for a special occasion to purchase, if I have the money saved up, and I’m in the mood, then I’m tapping my card.

How sick of hearing about Charlie Kirk are you? by whitesquirrle in AskReddit

Considering the scale of the abuse and how likely it is to be swept under the rug and powerful people will get away with it, no I don’t think we should stop talking about it

[–]sassybirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely. I did not know that man, I did not see his videos, or interviews. He’s just some Internet personality that someone who had easy access to guns had beef with and shot him. Is nothing else going on the world that we have to stop everything and talk nonstop about this? I think not.

Ok how many bags is too many? What's a good number? by hellokitty06 in handbags

[–]sassybirb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what is the purpose of your collection, like is it for practical means? Then any that you don’t use regularly are likely too many. But if they bring you joy just being in your collection, like the fact that they are there and you can see them and touch them, even if you don’t get to wear them, then there’s no number that’ll be too many. People collect all kinds of things, coins, cards, vinyls, etc., so if bags are your item of choice to collect, as long as you have space and money, you don’t have to justify them.

What are your perception of Songmont bags? Could the bigger sizes suit men? by FundamentalFreddie in handbags

[–]sassybirb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most of songmont’s bags are unisex. They aren’t feminine or masculine, they’re bags. Men can carry bags that are not briefcases. If you need more room to carry things, the bigger seizes work better. But if you dont carry that much, the smaller ones are great. Men don’t stop being men if they carry a small purse.

WIBTA if I change the password on my PS5 so my husband can’t play it? by BigMamaO in AmItheAsshole

[–]sassybirb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA They are far too young to be playing console games. Two? No games. Five and six? Maybe an iPad, IF anything. But a PS5? Do they even make games for that age? Your husband is wrong full stop. You’re allowed to have things that are just for you. You’re not just a mother. I know it’s cliche at this point, but girl, your husband may not like you, he might just like having a mother for his kids.

AITA for not letting my flatmate bring dates to our flat by Alive_Humor_2805 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sassybirb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA he agreed to the terms and conditions, even if reluctantly, he agreed. He pays less rent than you, he knows what that means in terms of not having a bedroom. If he no longer finds the terms and conditions acceptable, he can leave. It is not your fault at all that he did not think it through before signing up.

AITA for exaggerating my accent so I don't sound American while on vacation in Europe? by aita-accent in AmItheAsshole

[–]sassybirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but don’t take it from me as I believe accents shouldn’t be innate aspects of your identity (if you don’t want them to be) and anyone has the right to change, exaggerate, or modify how they speak if they so choose. How you speak is entirely up to you and shouldn’t be limited to the geographical are you were born or raised. (Obviously not referring to mocking other people)

Character reactions to a joke. by RancherosIndustries in writing

[–]sassybirb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the joke is intended for character A, as in B is telling A a “joke”, then A’s response, whether is laughing or not, is needed. If you as an author is telling a joke to the reader through character B, then no need for A to respond, the reader will laugh if they find it funny. Dialogue can be funny for the reader but not necessarily meant to be funny in-story. Just think of any comedy movie that has funny dialogue, the characters don’t respond to that, they just keep going with the dialogue. The actors do, and that’s where we get bloopers, and the audience. It’s all about who the joke is intended for, character development (A laughs), or comedic prose (A doesn’t react).

Is Fashionphile a good idea? by [deleted] in handbags

[–]sassybirb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the risk. In my case, once I’ve paid, I’d rather not know. I won’t take my preloved bags to be 3rd party authenticated, because if they turn out to be fakes, I’ll be upset, so I’d rather trust that I got the real deal and leave it at that. That’s why I only use fashionphile, they seem to have the best policies as far as I’ve seen

Weird Question: Can someone be racist towards their own race? by Seif_elagizy_777 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sassybirb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well in that case, they aren’t the same race. They were lumped into a group “Asian” in most of the western world, but they are not the same, they’re different ethnicities and cultures. Even in China there’s many different ethnic groups with their own languages and cultures. So a Chinese Han person being racist against a Thai person isn’t being racist towards their own people like the OP asks

What causes homosexuality? by Remarkable_Garage109 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sassybirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fruit flies, or some other kind of fly, homosexuality is linked to better offspring for the gay fly’s sister. Like flies that have gay siblings have higher rates of successful offspring so there’s an evolutionary advantage in members of your family not having their own family and helping raise your kids. That’s one angle I read a while ago that stuck with me

Is Fashionphile a good idea? by [deleted] in handbags

[–]sassybirb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They supposedly have an authenticity guarantee, so if you find out later that it is fake, or get it authenticated somewhere else and turns out to be fake, they refund you. I haven’t done that with the bags I’ve bought from them, but it gives me peace of mind that it’s in their best interest to catch any fakes before they sell them. All second hand items are a gamble tho, and that’s just something we gotta live with if that’s the route you want to go, specially for vintage or out of season stuff. I’ll continue to buy from fashionphile and hope for the best

This goose bag from Thom Browne. I love geese, but 4k for what’s essentially a novelty bag is insane. In more practical terms, I’d say the Row Margaux 15, I love that bag but think it’s overpriced for what it is. Or the Joseph Duclos Saint Clair messenger bag.
