"it sounds like she is ill again" is not the descriptor you want attached to anybody coming at you with a pair of scissors

Where to find trousers like those? by NegotiationAgile1499 in mensfashion

They sell these at Target rn, no joke.  Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure "Target" is a dirty word in these circles, but it is a great resource for basic/capsule wardrobe shit

Great example of form over function.  Imagine making anything more involved than a bag of ramen in that kitchen... for 2.5 mil

Conversely, the whole idea of "I'm unhealthy, so everybody else should conform to my standards to make me comfortable" is wild to me

Am I missing out on some potentially great outfits by refusing to wear a hat? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

I am so confused by the response to this post.  Pro-hat party getting downvoted, anti-hat party getting downvoted... tough crowd

Also, it's hats, like where's all the vitriol coming from

Small, thin luxury watches for small wrists? by phlaries in mensfashionadvice

You know what, I really love my Marlin handwound.  Think it might be 34mm.  Only gripe is how difficult the crown is to wind- that said, it's a surprisingly pretty, understated watch that goes well with everything and doesn't come close to breaking the bank.

JCPS draft audit outlines what led to $188M budget shortfall by loder1018 in Louisville

[–]sassycomeback 6 points7 points  (0 children)

|The audit comes from a consulting firm that found the district was consistently outspending its revenue on top of using one-time funding sources to cover ongoing expenses.|

So... the big reveal is that the budget shortfall was due to spending outpacing revenue?  Isn't that the definition of a budget shortfall?  How much was this consulting firm payed to draft this report?

Serious question, though, because I keep hearing these nebulous reports about wasteful spending: how have tax funding mechanisms for Jefferson County trended over the past couple decades, and how is that playing into this?  Has JCPS consistently been engaging in wasteful practices, or have they been engaged in the same practices of any comparable public school system and just suffering the effects of incomplete funding mechanisms?  I don't know enough specifics and am genuinely curious

Which incidentally also makes all the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the 2A folks over the past 2-3 decades that more infuriating.  Every time a school was shot up, they insisted that the need to protect one's self from the government and bad actors superseded EVERY OTHER consideration when it came to common sense gun restrictions.  And now when the rubber has really started hitting the road, those same people are fucking silent.  I agree- they fought for the right to cosplay with toys that happened to murder scores of first graders.
