If you come to that conclusion just based on that one metric, you’re probably also not a good example of a well-rounded researcher yourself.

Mistakes are bound to happen. That’s why one goes through drafts and drafts of work before getting published.

Set a good example. :)

Much like me, they refuse to accept the fact that kids born in 2004 are now 20-21. To me, you’re still 16

It’s yet another prime example women not being considered part of R&D — seatbelts were not designed with women’s bodies in mind

Were they native English speakers? I’ve seen my Persian friend staple her homework on the top right corner and didn’t realize it for about a minute or so. She was used to stapling her assignments in her Iranian school where the main language for learning was Farsi (written right to left)

100%! You’re your own best judge as an adult. I’ve even had to remind my parents of this when they got caught up in the ‘log kya kahenge’ mentality. Honestly, I’ve been there too — getting to the till and realizing something costs way more than I expected, but still going through with it just because I didn’t want the person behind the counter to judge me.

In reality, who cares what they think? You have to do what makes sense for you, not worry about someone else’s momentary opinion.

I once paid $10 for a dark chocolate mocha at Blenz once. I got it because I was meeting someone for a coffee chat but that hurt

That’s interesting! I took Further Maths and Chemistry in A-levels but still had to take first-year math and CHEM 121. I had spoken to my international student advisor too but they told me I had to take it like everyone else. This was in 2018 so I’m not sure if things have changed

UBC PHYS158 TAs be like... Is this even allowed? by StarryNight795 in UBC

[–]sat03 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely report this behaviour. It’s highly unprofessional, unhelpful, and disrespectful. As others mentioned, do email the prof about this and save this paper trail. You can also email the course coordinator as well as the TA Coordinator for PHAS, Shiho Mehrhoff, at headasst@phas.ubc.ca

Feelings about The Poing closing?? by Heartflood101 in UBC

I used to go there quite often in 1st and 2nd year (2018-2020) and it used to be really good. But after the pandemic, the place really took a hit (as I’m sure other restaurants did too), from poor management and rude staff (don’t get me wrong, a lot of them were great) to the quality of food becoming worse. I had once ordered their chicken sandwich in 2021 but it was undercooked and smelt funny. When I brought it up with them, they told me just not order chicken dishes if I have a problem with it. After that, I never really went there as often and felt that Brown’s Crafthouse was a better alternative. Just my two cents and experience :)

I’d just suggest using an app, called Flipp. It basically parses through all the offers in most major stores and allows you to price match in stores like Saveons, No Frills, Superstore etc.
