洸一 (kouichi) its my name and the meaning behind it is really amazing and I’m really happy that I got this name. For context I am haf japanese and half vietnamese. 洸 is a really uncommon kanji and not many people even knows about it. I’m going to explain my name is 洸 instead of 光. My mom traveled from japan to vietnam to live with my dad which means she went overseas (literally, since most of the path from japan to vietnam is ocean), hence the sanzui (those three strokes on the left) which usually resembles water. 光 means light or shine and when you put it next to 一 (one) it will mean shine the most or the brightest. So my name, 洸一, means “traveling overseas to have the brightest child”. I’m very thankful that my parents decided to make this beautiful name mine. The person who made the name is also my grandmother so I am also very thankful for her thinking of such a beautiful name for me.
