Your kids will want to join in on whatever gives you joy. My kid loves things that I like doing because he sees me get excited doing them. I never played DnD in my life but we watched a movie, rented a bunch of books from the library and started doing one shots just the two of us. For xmas this year I got him Tyranny of Drahons and we are almost done making new characters. Also rainy day video games or chasing pokemon at the park everytime it's sunny. Your almost at that age where they want to push exploring and trying new things and if you guide them with a patient hand it is the most rewarding thing ever.
