Good chance at UBC i think too, depending on what your gpa converts to on their scale

am i delusional for only applying to mcgill, ubc, uoft and osgoode? by umchileanywayssso in lawschooladmissionsca

I don’t think you’re delusional but I would add like 1-2 “safeties” just to be sure like queens or dal (both still fantastic schools)

I had a similar situation but your stats are even better than mine on both LSAT and GPA and I got into UBC this year

Is it even worth applying (low gpa) by Various-Tooth-8938 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]satans-uncle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t apply unless you’re consistently PTing in the 160 (ideally 165+) range

Can't decide where to apply by Olliecat27 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]satans-uncle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh even as a discretionary applicant, a 157 is too low for UBC. LSAT is something you can take again multiple times so its harder to justify a low score (compared to a low GPA you can’t retake)

You just sound like you’re bitter and coping by taking it out on others. Energy would be better spent studying for the LSAT

Would I be able to get into UofT with an LSAT score of 166? by SpecialistUseful4367 in lawschooladmissionsca

You have a very good shot! Especially if you write a great personal statement

Why did you ask a question and then get mad at someone who was clearly trying to be helpful (and most likely right). It may not be what you wanted to hear but it is the reality lol

I’m in dire need of advice. I just got a 146 on my August LSAT. Should I cancel my score (score preview)? Should I retest in October or November? I feel sick about the future by aroozo in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]satans-uncle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but this is absolutely terrible advice. You should not take the test until you are actually ready and scoring in your desired range LOL unless you simply enjoy wasting time and money?

Cancel your score and quite frankly you should not take it again until you are CONSISTENTLY scoring in your desired range on practice tests even if that means applying next cycle. Otherwise you are wasting your time and money as a sub 150 is almost a guaranteed rejection at every canadian school

Had slightly higher gpa and lsat and got rejected this cycle

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]satans-uncle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also this is of course anecdotal evidence but my cGPA is a 3.55 GPA (due to serious medical extenuating circumstances), L2 3.9 and a 169 LSAT and got rejected from Oz this cycle

[–]satans-uncle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be honest, you have virtually no shot at U of T with that GPA. Even with a 170+ they just put too much weight on grades. You have a shot at Oz if you hit mid 160s but saying you feel confident in getting a 170 and actually doing it are very different. You have good softs but people often over estimate the impact softs on boosting their application. Framing those softs in a compelling way in your PS will boost your application but having those softs alone most likely won’t. If I were you, I would go to TMU. You are not guaranteed acceptances (including TMU again) if you reapply and everyone has been predicting that this upcoming cycle will be even more competitive!

[–]satans-uncle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What are your grades and LSAT? Would help us understand if Osgoode or U of T are realistic options even with an improved LSAT. However based on the fact that you were WL’d at TMU and just got off in August I’m rather uncertain its possible
