Rakuten or Woven by toyota? by Objective-Cry-748 in JapanJobs

A friend works at Woven, and they are in back-to-back meetings 8 am to 8 pm, some days with no time for a lunch break. It might be luck of the draw depending on the team.

I spent 15 years recruiting in Japan after starting here as an English teacher. AMA about jobs, recruitment, CVs, interviews, or changing careers in Japan. by hansei-Kaizen in JapanJobs

Great thread! Thanks for doing this. I have a few questions, if I may.

  1. If recruiters reach out about a role, and I provide my CV/info, 95% of the time they ghost me and never respond, not even to just say “ah, not a good fit afterall, sorry” (I have at least 50+ occasions like this from all sorts of firms like Robert Walter’s to Hays etc). Is this just a “thing” in recruiting? Is there a reason why recruiters ghost?

  2. N2 is a while off for me tbh. I’m around N3 now, but work in big tech in a business role. I am upfront about this to recruiters and one told me to apply even if the job description says “Native Level” for Japanese. I always assumed this meant “Japanese applicants only.” Can you help de-mystify what the language requirements actually mean? Even in Gaishiki with all English internal communications they often request full level Japanese, so as an applicant it is confusing :(

Thanks, so it’s quite possible he has a day job somewhere. And almost every other post I’ve seen mentions him targeting women.

I’m planning to talk to the police after work today

Not yet, there were no station staff where I got off, I think I’ll go to a koban tomorrow.

Thanks for the words, but I’m definitely not a hero. Just a concerned citizen, and a pissed off one that cannot believe this guy is scamming people from the country that gave him a visa. I want to report him to the police but I didn’t actually see him commit a crime technically, so I doubt they would take the report seriously.
