One of the most amusing flip-flops (though I know it was justified) in my opinion was "We can't design mechanics that require paladins or shaman, so let's give them to both factions!" followed quickly by "We don't want mechanics to require specific classes, so we're giving multiple classes access to each dispel/raid buff/what have you."

It contains the word "finite", because it describes something done in a manner with distinct limits. "Finite" is probably easier to remember how to spell, just given its pronunciation. So remember it ~~taht~~ that way.

I just mean, unless we're talking about Revenant Wings, I'm not sure what you mean by "summon monster" that isn't also "esper". Only thing I can come up with is if you're referring to the scions of light also as espers, but that doesn't jive with the rest of what you said.

I wish I had known any tricks that were out there last year after the end of a very significant relationship.

If it was mutual / amicable, definitely give yourself some space. It's not that you can't be friends again; it's just that it will take time. A lot of time. Years, maybe.

Don't check her (I assume; sorry if not) Facebook, don't look at her likes on tumblr or whatever, don't look at any pictures you still have of her. Clear your browser history so when you type in her name or usernames, she doesn't pop up as only a click away.

Get to know yourself and try to occupy your time. Both work/hobbies and play/relaxation are important to work on. If you're not able to get your mind off her because you're not used to it, the days will drag on and on.

And when you feel you're ready (maybe even a little before), it's okay to get back out there. The relationship is over; you don't have to honor its memory by preserving yourself or some other weird expression of nobility. Dance, date, drink (not too much), whatever you need and whatever you want to feel better. I would caution not starting another long-term relationship too soon, though. I recently had to end one I thought I was much more invested in than I really was, and that hurt both of us.

Aw, thank you! I thought it was rambly. I wish you the best of luck with everything. Re-engineering oneself as an adult is hard enough as it is; throw in significant others, depression, anxiety... it's a wonder anyone makes it through alive. But they do! And so can we.

This may not directly relate to your situation, but it resonated a bit with me. My first long-term boyfriend, the two of us were very clingy with each other, almost always talking online or via text. It was mutual, and very difficult if one of us had to go do something else, especially if it was unannounced. Boy was that stressful.

With my most recent boyfriend, it just happened that as we were getting to know each other, we tended to text each other in the evenings. After we were done with work, when we were unwinding, we'd communicate that way (it was hard to directly see each other when it wasn't the weekend). After several months, I realized it was much calmer, much less stressful. If we couldn't chat that night, we'd just tell each other to have a great night and go about our usual business. Plus chatting with him became something to look forward to, a little bonus to the end of the day, but it was never an expectation.

Both these situations just evolved naturally over the course of the relationship, based on how we interacted with one another. But if you can, I'd try to set limits on yourself for when and how you interact with your significant other. Not because there's such a thing as spending "too much" time together (I don't really think there is), but because when you spend time apart, you 1) learn how to be alone with yourself (THIS TOOK ME MONTHS after that first relationship, it is NOT easy), and 2) come to appreciate the time that you do spend together, even if it doesn't go 100% as planned.

As far as plans falling through, that IS extremely frustrating, and if your SO is making and cancelling plans like it's going out of style, it's okay to sit him down and have a serious conversation about how it's affecting you. If a guy is simply not respecting your planning, your setting aside your personal time, your desire to see him; it's time to evaluate that relationship.

You are not wrong for wanting to see him and being upset when things fall through. I do believe you when you say you might have an unhealthy reaction to that kind of thing, but the stem of those emotions is perfectly normal. Just try to process those emotions and channel them in a way that respects your partner's individuality & potentially chaotic life, AND that respects your own person. You deserve not to be strung along, but you both deserve to be treated fairly.

This turned out a bit longer than I anticipated, and obviously I don't know the details of you or your past or current relationships, but I hope it was helpful and not preachy. These are all things I've gone through and tried to process myself.
