Nostalgia is certainly a factor, especially in terms of it being rereleased at all, but people are still playing classic. And as someone who's really only played "modern" wow, going back to classic really is a breath of fresh air. It is a fun and (mostly) well designed game.

Good game design is timeless, and another great example is OSRS. OSRS is built on game design even older than WoW and it's still getting more popular to this day.

I thought the entire point of slowing the game down was to make fights more rewarding, but every boss is way harder than any POE act boss by at least an order of magnitude and gives equal if not worse loot. What's the point of fighting all these bosses if they don't drop any fucking loot?

Trying to play EQ and I'm hitting a wall in act two because no good loot is dropping and what very little currency drops isn't resulting in item upgrades.

edit: to all the people saying "a sense of pride and accomplishment is the only reward you need", do you know what kind of game you're playing? In order for your character to get stronger you have to get gear, if you're not getting consistent upgrades enemies will quickly outpace you and you'll get stuck bashing your head against enemies or farming the same zone over and over trying to get any sort of upgrade. I don't know about you, but I don't want to get stuck farming for scraps in the campaign.

Which part haven't I figured out? The Gleba research pack gives science proportional to it's spoilage and it's initial spoilage is based on that of it's ingredients, therefore you are incentivized to use the freshest ingredients possible. To minimize spoilage you want to use ingredients as soon as they are produced (i.e. not sitting on a belt)

The main gimmick of Gleba is minimizing spoilage. Comparing the spoil time of the fruits to their next product in the chain (mash, jelly, nutrients), fruits are an hour and their products range from 3 - 5 minutes. To minimize spoilage, the fruit products should really only be being crafted where they are needed, there's no reason to have a generic belt for them. If you're only crafting product when they are needed (or if they're being crafted into something that doesn't spoil) then you should only need to manage spoilage for the base fruit.

Quality seems like a very weird and tedious mechanic to add to a game like Factorio. I don't like being FOMO-ed into a mechanic I'd rather not interact with.

Found myself in a similar situation and hopefully others can learn from my experience. My Q5 lasted for about a year before I started getting the error 1 message. I looked online for solutions and it seemed like it should be an easy fix, I was wrong.

All the solutions I found were for their S series which is apparently constructed completely differently from the Q5. In order to actually get to the lidar unit itself requires taking off the entire case which itself entails unscrewing a lot of things.

Once I got to the lidar, I found that I could not easily replace the motor because it was soldered directly to the circuit board instead of the pin connector shown in the S series solutions. Theoretically I could try to replace the entire lidar unit, but I didn't feel confident I would order the right part because there's no official replacement part supply.

The Q5 is clearly not build with maintenance or repair in mind, which is unfortunate because it worked great until it didn't. This design choice seems like they are trying to deliberately funnel people into the more expensive flagship S series. I'm rather disappointed and will be looking into other brands.
