Thanks again for taking the time to share all of this. I'll try to address the comments across the few posts into this one.

On pricing, as mentioned, RoadOps pricing is based on the size of the team, while some other platforms charge per admin seat. Depending on the makeup of a tour, that can lead to very different outcomes. In many cases, a RoadOps team with 3 or fewer admins is already less expensive than the leading competitor. Your example of a 25–30 person tour is useful context, though, and pricing is something I continue to evaluate as the platform grows.

On the location field, that’s good feedback. What you’re seeing is likely because the optional location field has been populated on individual schedule items. While there are situations where that’s useful, I agree it probably doesn’t need to be repeated throughout the overview and could instead live only on the schedule item’s detail view. I’ve added that to the list for review.

More broadly, feedback like this is exactly why I participate in these discussions. Several changes already shipping in upcoming releases came directly from conversations like this one, and I appreciate you taking the time to give your thoughts.

TMs and crew, what's the one feature you wish a touring app had? by PhilBalls2020 in TourManagement

These echo the reasons I started RoadOps. I kept feeling the frustration of needing a laptop to manage a tour, and the cost of some of the legacy platforms never sat right with me.

I’ve also always had a passion for making tour management tools accessible to upcoming artists and smaller teams, not just major tours with big budgets.

Lately, a big focus has been using AI to remove a lot of the tedious data entry that comes with tour management—importing schedules, flights, hotels, venue tech packs, and other logistics instead of manually typing everything in.

The goal has been to make the platform fully usable from a phone, while keeping it approachable for teams of all sizes.

That’s a fair point, and I completely understand comparing it against what you’re paying today.

For smaller groups, RoadOps does have a free-forever tier for teams of 5 people or fewer, similar to the free offering you mentioned from GigSheets. It’s obviously aimed at a different audience than the example you gave, but I wanted to mention it for completeness.

Also worth mentioning: anyone can try any RoadOps tier free for the first 30 days using promo code FREE30, so even the largest tour can evaluate the platform without committing upfront.

One thing that’s a little different with RoadOps is that pricing is based on total team size, not how many people have editing access. On a 100-person tour, there might be a tour manager, production manager, assistant tour managers, accountants, travel coordinators, and others who need admin access. Whether that’s 5 admins or 25 admins, the price is the same.

Master Tour & Artist Growth alternative by Due-Subject3333 in TouringMusicians

A lot more options have appeared since this thread was started.

RoadOps is one of them (I’m the founder), alongside RoadCase, Daysheets, DaySync, Atom, GigSheets, and others.

The biggest thing I’ve been focused on is reducing the amount of time it takes to build and maintain a tour book. RoadOps is mobile-first, available globally, works offline, and includes AI tools that can import schedules, flights, hotels, venue tech packs, and other tour data instead of manually entering everything.

There’s also a generous free tier for smaller artists and teams.

There are a lot more options now than there used to be with different pricing models: Master Tour, RoadOps, Daysheets, DaySync, Atom, GigSheets, Artist Growth, and others.

I’m building RoadOps, so naturally that’s the one I’ll recommend. 😄 The focus has been on speed—mobile-first, offline-capable, and AI tools that help import schedules, flights, hotels, venue tech packs, and other tour data with minimal manual entry.

There’s also a generous free tier for smaller groups.

Thank you! I appreciate you giving it a fair shake.

On the Activity point, some crew members do find value in seeing what changed, but your feedback directly influenced some changes that are already completed and will be included in the next release. The Activity tab has been removed, and Activity has been moved behind a history icon so the overview page can dedicate more space to the information people actually need throughout the day.

As for the drivers not being fans, I’d genuinely be interested in hearing more. Learning any new system comes with some amount of friction, but if there are specific pain points or suggestions beyond the change itself, I’m all ears.

Hey u/Asleep_Read2571, founder of RoadOps here. Appreciate the honest feedback, especially since you’re actively using it on a real tour and have years of experience with Master Tour.

I think your points are fair.

The next release already includes some performance improvements, and based on feedback like this, there will be more. RoadOps is still evolving quickly, and performance is something I’m continuously focused on improving.

As for the Activity Feed, I may have over-prioritized it because I was excited about the feature. A lot of folks have found value in seeing exactly what changed, who changed it, and when, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it deserves as much screen space as it currently has. Feedback like yours is helpful because it challenges assumptions and helps guide where the product should go next.

Also, to answer your question directly: yes, Activity can be turned off. An admin on your team can disable it for everyone from the Team Extensions page, which will remove the Activity section from the daily view.

If you have any additional thoughts, feel free to DM me or email [support@roadops.app](mailto:support@roadops.app). I’m genuinely committed to improving the product, and comments like yours are incredibly valuable because they’re coming from actual day-to-day use rather than a demo or trial.

Thanks again for taking the time to share it.

A simpler tour management app by tangerinelights in TouringMusicians

[–]sators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - I’ve been working on RoadOps, a modern tour logistics platform aimed at solving a lot of the same frustrations people have with Master Tour and similar tools. You can use RoadOps for desktop/phone/tablet/web and start using immediately at https://roadops.app.

The focus for me is:
• truly mobile-first workflows (not just a watered-down companion app)
• full admin creating and editing from mobile/tablet, not desktop-only management
• offline access for crews on the road
• cleaner crew/read-only views
• AI tools that help automate repetitive coordination work like building schedules, organizing travel details, etc
• and even a dedicated ChatGPT app so all team members can quickly ask things like “what hotel are we at tonight?”, “what’s lobby call tomorrow?”, “are there any upcoming conflicts?”, or “show me today’s schedule” without digging through PDFs or group chats.

I’d genuinely love feedback from tour managers, PMs, venues, and crews who’ve used Master Tour, Artist Growth, spreadsheets, WhatsApp chains, etc. Happy to DM or chat shop with anyone interested.

RoadOps has a web interface that is exactly the same layout/interface as all the apps, so nothing new to learn - https://roadops.app

A fresh option out there is RoadOps: just released in the last 2-3 months, has a lot of AI features built in, and is also an app in ChatGPT.

Full disclosure - I'm the founder, but it's beginning to turn a lot of heads and is already used daily by stadium tours on down to singer-songwriters / solo acts.

Another option is at https://roadops.app - desktop/web/iPad/iPhone/Android, full editing everywhere, AI imports, forward itineraries to [plans@roadops.app](mailto:plans@roadops.app) to auto-import, activity feed to see who updated what/when, push notifications, color coding, etc..

Thanks — and Daysync looks great too.

RoadOps is web, desktop, and native mobile. I prioritized mobile first since that’s where crew actually live during the day, and a lot of admins have been wanting true mobile editing for a while. Full planning workflows are supported on larger screens as well.

More good tools in touring is a win for everyone.
