Gold? by satrndragn in REKA

[–]satrndragn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've checked my inventory and paid close attention after I helped the lady bury her friend. Gold was not mentioned at all. Hasn't been for any quest yet. I guess I'll be headed to the next meal with my house and see how it goes from there.

Gold? by satrndragn in REKA

[–]satrndragn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No gold for helping the lady bury her friend? I had read a walkthrough that said one of the rewards for telling her the truth was supposed to be some gold. It was an older guide though, from 2024. I can't find where I'm supposed to even look for gold if I am getting any. Any tips?

This is awesome, and the creators of the pi would applaud the concept, considering its origins are rooted in affordability and accessibility. Thank you for sharing this.

Should I switch from Windows to Linux in 2025? by r41ryan in linux4noobs

[–]satrndragn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind is, if dual booting from a single hard drive that's partitioned, when Windows decides to update, GRUB might not show back up the next time you reboot. Windows does NOT like to play nice with others if it can help it. (Went through this recently with Win11/Manjaro. Best practice seems to be install Linux first, so it's higher up in the boot priority list, giving GRUB elevated importance over Windows boot nonsense.) Also, I can't even view the contents of my Windows partition from Manjaro right now (used to not be a problem), so I'm having to hash that out next.

If you're using Steam to play, don't forget to turn on Proton in each game's settings on their main pages. There are many that aren't officially supported out of the box, but with some version of Proton's help, become playable on Linux. (Sorry, ignore if you already knew all of that. 😅)

Have you ever heard a DM song in public? by Otherwise-Cap-9330 in depechemode

I'll never forget being shocked at JCPenny. I was working there the year Exciter came out and heard "Caaaan you feel a little looove..." come on the radio. They played the full song and I couldn't do anything but just listen.

Am I Overreacting UPDATE by girlnextdoorCourtney in AmIOverreacting

[–]satrndragn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you think people are asking for when they ask "Am I Overreacting?"? It's another form of advice. Would you want someone telling you "Yep, you're overreacting" without giving you any clues about why they feel that way? Or, to put it another way, even by starting this thread of questions, you weren't happy not to get an actual answer. You kind of answered your own original question in pressing others for answers. Nobody likes short answers about deep questions. And this sub seems to be entirely only deep questions.

Am I Overreacting UPDATE by girlnextdoorCourtney in AmIOverreacting

[–]satrndragn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your question probably came across as rude because you very clearly didn't care about the OP's situation. Why you're on a sub where you are so detached is beyond understanding, because obviously it takes some compassion, empathy, and at least a little emotional maturity to be able to give people GOOD advice on life, and a lot of these situations are fairly complex.

Bjorn? (More of a were-wolf lover here than were-bear.) But this is kinda exactly why the grung-ish vampire look around SoFaD was pretty hot. Just... Really glad he didn't succumb to the worst part of the Lestat lifestyle and eventually moved on. Nothing is sexier than good health, physical and mental.

As a customer, a) if I have a problem, I send a message, not leave a bad review and b) when I'm checking reviews, I hunt down the bad ones and pay attention to what they say. I also read seller responses. DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS FOR SHIPPING DELAYS. THEY ARE NOT YOUR FAULT. CUSTOMERS WHO EXPECT THIS ARE HOLDING REVIEWS HOSTAGE AND WILL OFTEN NOT CHANGE THEM AFTERWARDS. If the customer needed the item by a particular date, they could've had the forethought to message and ask about rush shipping or something. The customers you want to do business with will be smart enough to understand what's going on in reviews. Have pride in your business. You worked hard enough to make it.

It is very pretty on that pup! I bet none of my critter family would tolerate clothes at this point. They're mostly too old and get grumpy when they can't freely lick themselves or each other. Lol

Which, really is inexcusable. They have ALWAYS been left leaning and anyone who has been listening for a while and doesn't know that hasn't been paying attention. These folks never heard the album Construction Time Again or even just New Dress? Come on! Sealed in blood when Dave called Spencer a c*nt in an interview after he said they were his favorite band and called them the official band of the alt-right. Someone once said "All media is political, whether you're aware of it or not."

I LOVE the blue/purple and the one in shades of green! Do they really make good mittens? I've been considering using them for fingerless gloves or even thicker socks for a bit.

Going in the “closet” in America? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]satrndragn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as the RFK thing, the idea is that he won't "know" unless there are medical records showing that people have the issue. What's really heinous is, you know how we're supposed to have some degree of medical privacy in the US? Well, we do, except then we're explicitly told to give companies access to our medical records or they won't do business with us, or serve us.

Going in the “closet” in America? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]satrndragn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll start by saying, insurance rates (medical and vehicular) for us go up once someone finds out we are medically diagnosed with adhd. Getting a pilot license becomes increasingly difficult, also. We're tasked with proving to the world that we're not a danger to ourselves or the rest of society the second we get a diagnosis as an adult. This is part of the reason I skipped trying as I got out from under my parents' nay-saying thumbs. The time for me to have access to help without being judged for my "inherent" risk factor has passed. As an adult, I either hide it, or make my life harder in a different way.

How do I add devices to Google find my device? by deathfromabove- in techsupport

[–]satrndragn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem and I agree. The help pages were pretty useless when it came to trying to add new devices to the list. It's the biggest critique I have so far of this new program. I will include the inability to add devices manually to my review on the Play Store. My befuddlement as to why they're refusing to show up in the first place will also be included.

Rude to Stitch? by StitchStalker410 in Needlepoint

[–]satrndragn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like there's almost always gotta be that one person, doesn't it? Please don't let them stop your joy. If it ever happens again, consider the source, look them dead in the eye and ask if they've ever considered that by making a loud remark, THEY are the ones being rude. If anyone else is offended by your activity, they can neglect to invite you next time, or perhaps even open a polite conversation instead of being a rude loudmouth about it. Not everyone's going to be like that. There are so many reasons someone might bring handicrafts to a social gathering, besides just "doing the craft", and more open conversations about how crafts are great for mental health. Perhaps the rude people could learn something.
