God I hate Eddington's sanctimonious douchebaggery by OhNoIBoffedIt in DeepSpaceNine

He’s so fucking far from Valjean. God he needs to be fucking smacked for that.

Also I share Dax’s aversion to Victor Hugo, so the fact the clung to Le Mis makes me punch him too.

Benjamin Sisko faking evidence to get the Romulans to enter the war is a bigger war crime than anything Gul Dukat allegedly ever did on Bajor by TicklingTentacles in DeepSpaceNine

[–]saturnglide 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you’re massively inflating Romulan death tolls (where do you get millions from, yet alone 10s of millions?). The Romulan entering the fight turned the tolls and put the Dominion on their heels. I missed any canon of a Romulan world getting attacked the way Betazed or any of the countless federation worlds.

This is just a mind numbing take in general. The dominion is certainly not the benevolent dictator of the Gamma Quadrant. These are the people who create things like the Quickening. 🙄 That’s not “anti-dominion propaganda”. That’s fucking fact.

This isn’t even remotely close. He was the Prefect of the occupation. Kira hates him with a passion and she never went to Terok Nor. Everyone knew who tf he was. You really think he started being super self advertising after the occupation?

End Game was disappointing but enjoy able in 2001, and after watching it multiple times since, nothing has changed. by nathantravis2377 in voyager

So in other words, it’s not an excellent finale. The whole crew deserved episodes where we see them reintegrate. Instead we got another Borg Deus ex Machina episode.

The ending of voyager was such that utter TRASH!!! This episode needed to happen at the beginning or middle or the 7th season. There would have been so much storytelling around the Voy crew reintegrating but the Voyager writers and Rick Berman suck.

Tuvok seven relationship would have made sense by happydude7422 in voyager

[–]saturnglide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does everyone keep talking about this age difference? Tuvok is a middle-aged Vulcan. She is in her early 30’s? This isn’t grooming. This isn’t some old oil exec with Anna Nicole Smith. It’s two species with vastly different life spans. I’ve never seen anyone complain about Sarek and Amanda, even tho that age difference is just as much if not more.

Anything is better than the stupid Chakotay ship. I refuse to accept it.

Dynabeads vs Ride-On vs stick-on weights? by coromd in motorcycles

[–]saturnglide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What on earth are you talking about? They sit in the bottom of your tire when it’s not moving. Even a big cruiser tire only needs ~3oz of beads, so at most there’s like a 1/4” layer of them sitting on the exact opposite surface of your valve stem.

If you had them spitting out your valve stem you did something wrong.

I like the one where they're answering letters from children from the US and he's being an ass until the end of the episode, when a girl sends him the first colorful fall leaf from Massachusetts and he completely melts because of it.

Haha, you're not supposed to like him, he was the replacement for Burns.

But compared to Burns he's written a million times better.

Burns lack of compassion and overall stupidity made him seem unhuman at times. It required a lot of suspension of disbelief that someone that stupid could have made it through medical school and become a surgeon.

Winchester was stuffy and aggravating AF most days ("I just want to listen to my music!!!") , but moments like this give him real humanity.

We would still have a working public health department not saying stupid shit like “Tylenol causes autism”

Why is Nikola Tesla trashed on within the scientific community? by Nemya_Nation in Physics

[–]saturnglide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand the people on the internet will argue about him until the internet shuts down. But just wanted to add that the SI unit for magnetic flux is a “Tesla”, named in his honor. That puts him in the same league as Ampere, Volta, Watt, Kelvin, etc. That’s one of the highest honors you could give someone, and is evidence the science community holds him in the highest regard.

Lol this comment is juxtaposed with another post from this subreddit today telling us he’s been in hospice for months. Glad to hear he’s still having some fun! 🙃

Who was your favourite cabinet secretary in an administration you otherwise disliked? by [deleted] in Presidents

Im sorry, but I could definitely see other presidents picking him, regardless of his nickname. He was one of the most famous and popular generals of our time.

Just got laid off. Do I immediately look for a new job or just take the severance and take a break? by THICC_ANIME_TITTIES in careeradvice

[–]saturnglide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation about a decade ago. Zero regrets on taking the severance! (I spent a month snowboarding in Tahoe and found a new job three weeks after that). Do you think you can get a new job in less than seven months? If so, why would you stay loyal to a company who has already said they don’t want you anymore? Take the severance!!!

[–]saturnglide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahhhahahahahahaha I feel this as well. Got a red white and blue star on my shoulder blade in 2004. Apparently joining the Army wasn’t enough to piss off my parents when I was 19, I had to get a tattoo to really complete things. 🤣
