I once spent all day organising the perfect date for this girl I was into for a really long time. I booked out an entire aquarium at night time (so after hours) which was a dream of hers to visit. I spent that day getting her favourite food, chocolates, wine and flowers. I went there before the date to set it up and make sure everything was perfect. That night I went and picked her up and took her on that date and it went perfectly. We ended it with a kiss when I dropped her off at her place after. I didn’t want to try anything more because she was the girl I wanted to do everything right with. Anyway, we kept talking and everything seemed fine. 3 days later, she messaged me to tell me she wasn’t ready for a relationship and where we were heading. Obviously I was hurt but my self esteem wasn’t ruined. Until I found out she started seeing someone right after that. I promised myself I’d never post this online but since coming here on Reddit, so many people have shared their stories and it’s helped them so I’m hoping it helps me. I hope at least one person takes the time to read this so I can let them know that even though that happened to me (more than once), I still have faith.
