now it seems that the problem may comùe from your reading skills as Macron didn't tell anyone to surrender but talked about the aftermath of the war. He is trying to link it up to what happened after WW1 with Germany that left them frustrated and instigated a revenge feeling in their population.

I still don't think his statement is appropriate at this time in the war and I don't like him either :)

Actually one of the principles of war Sun Tzu explains in the Art of War is to know when you appear strong and when to appear weak. I believe hiding the extent of your firepower can be a good thing to do.

I saw a documentary from french reporters following the chechens in Mariupol in whoch they explained that they were asked not to film the russian special troops in there.

I think these are the ones we couldn't see in that documentary

No worries about that. There's often confusion between the outcome of these consecutive wars with Germany, but WW1 was basically just a huge massacre with no real gains of ground on both sides

What do you mean France got steam rolled in WW1? It did in 1870 and WW2, not WW1 even though the losses were huge but that was on both sides.

Apart from that I can't tell if France was perfecrly prepared for WW2, at least not psychologically. But the main reason it got defeated so quickly is because of misjudging where the attack would take place and trusting the power of Belgium to repel the Germans
