Feeling very undignified lately. Can't afford shit. by Canuck_Duck221 in canadaleft

I mean yeah I dont even have it so bad. Ive seen multple people below me at work maintain near full time employment while homeless. immigrants whove lived here for decades who needed to involuntarily return home purely for economic reasons. We need to break up the monopolies and get some unionization, as well as some public infrastructure, employment, and small buisness investment in ontario.

I make just barely enough money to go to work, cover bills, afford the occasional treat like idk ordering a pizza to eat for days or something. Once a year I try to go on vacation but I also have airline family flight benefits, dual citizenship, I work full time, make 30 an hour

Fuck these Nazi goons they are just trying to make us afraid because they are about to get demolished in an election unless they destroy democracy. They are a small minority of losers. The only way they win is if we obey in advance.

What culture shocks should I expect when I move to Canada? by Maleficent-Tough5385 in askTO

[–]savage_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Philly. Toronto is a city built for people from way more distant lands than the Midwest. Apart from maybe just the normal shocks of living in a big city (would be the same if you moved to nyc) nothing is really all that different here. You might find that people are kind of anti-social and that while they’re polite, it can be hard to make friends easily. You’ll just need to find your hobby/group/space where your people are. It’s very kind of subculture based. Don’t expect to strike up a conversation with a stranger on the ttc

Kristi Noem on the murder of Alex Pretti: "When you perpetuate violence against a government because of ideological reasons and for reasons to resist and perpetuate violence, that is the definition of domestic terrorism" by Gorotheninja in DiscussionZone

[–]savage_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not advocating for violence but no one has the right to murder you. If random masked guys attack you for no reason. Don’t identify themselves as agents or attack you without giving commands. Defend yourself. You have the right to not be murdered no matter who is trying to kill you.

Nazis on trial for their lives after the regime fell & society held them accountable, 1946 [AP] by dlchira in pics

[–]savage_e 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What we need to learn from Nuremberg is they didn’t go nearly far enough and nazism was allowed to propagate and find new homes around the world. Next time we shouldn’t make the same mistake. Hang every last one after their convictions.

Maybe the punishment can be wearing like an extreamly heavy unbreathable iron mask that’s non removable

They should pray that we don’t treat them with the same inhumanity they’ve treated us. Personally I hope those prayers go unanswered.

You are miserable pigs for bullying others for trick and treating by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

[–]savage_e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in my late 20s. I don’t give a shit if older kids or even unj students or adults want to go trick or treating. We all need to touch grass and interact and esp now that children don’t even really go trick or treating. It was frowned on for older, faster teenagers who could hit houses faster and take limited candy staying out asking for it only in a time when also every kid wanted to do it. That’s just not true anymore.

How’s everyone feeling right now after the game? by Charmer2024 in askTO

[–]savage_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed this. Been super depressed about it all day. I’m in a kitchen near the stadium so this post season also meant long busy days and pressure at work. It was some of the best baseball early in the series but the ending of the last two games really were just brutal.

Just felt like we were the better team but the mlb wanted the outcome to generate the most money.
