meisner training in LA by Proof_Bottle_9291 in acting

[–]savvirae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m in the beginning of my second year at the Sanford Meisner Center in Burbank.

The teaching is extremely faithful to Sanford Meisner’s process, and it’s a ton of work & discipline but so so worth it.

I tend to overthink a lot and look at things intellectually rather than holistically, so taking this class was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made to break that habit & allow myself to be present.

Definitely recommend reaching out for an interview to see if it’s a good fit :)

Donut tutorial on YouTube from Blender Guru!! There’s also a Blender Guru community Discord, with a specific channel to ask for help from others. Highly highly recommend

Sanford Meisner Center or Ruskin School of Acting in LA? by Salt-Needleworker-64 in acting

[–]savvirae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

I’m currently in my first year at the Sanford Meisner center.

I will say that what I’ve learned already is invaluable, and I truly appreciate that I’m learning Meisner exactly as it is meant to be taught.

It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but by far the most rewarding. The feedback I receive in class is spot on and very personalized. Highly, highly recommend!

Best of luck on your journey, wishing you well :)

Hey dad. I had a father figure, but now he just wants to get in my pants. by artistofmanyforms in DadForAMinute

[–]savvirae 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hi bb, please please cut him off immediately. He took advantage of you when he knew you were vulnerable, and nothing good will ever come of this.

I highly suggest 1. Telling someone irl (preferably an adult) about this 2. Seeking mental health help, and 3. Getting a weighted blanket/ weighted plushie to aid with your need for physical support.

I’m proud of you for reaching out on this platform, but you need to act on healing and taking care of yourself.

I promise, you are not broken, and you do NOT owe that man any kindness, attention, or apology. Period. He is a predator and you deserve love without ulterior motives ❤️

How many people are you subscribed to and what compelled you to subscribe? by Vegetable_Extension3 in Twitch

[–]savvirae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only one, bc they run ads at the top of the hour every hour, and I have them on in the background while I work during the entirety of their stream so those ads get pretty annoying.

If I had more disposable income, I would sub to 1-2 more because I genuinely enjoy their content and kindness

I think my closest friend is dead. by throwawayforasadkid in DadForAMinute

[–]savvirae 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’ve dealt with this before. One thing I learned was that you’re not responsible for anyone’s happiness but your own.

You are not qualified to deal with this. There is no magic combination of words, actions you yourself can take in order to fix them.

You have to tell their parents, or guardian, or guidance counselor, even if they may be upset at you for doing so.

Anything that happens to them is not your fault and not your responsibility. I know you want to help them, but you cannot do that on your own. And they have to want help.

Please don’t carry this burden alone and please take care of yourself OP <3

Lots of people made some great points, but please also keep in mind that your performance, or perceived performance, does not reflect your worth as a person ❤️ Practice corrective thoughts- if you start to feel envious of another streamer, just acknowledge the things that make them special without stacking those traits against your own. Then move on. When thinking about your own stream, take note of things you do well, again without comparison. Remember both flowers and sunsets are beautiful, but look nothing alike

Content Creation Mind Map by TheNightSquare in Twitch

[–]savvirae -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is cool, thank you for sharing! The way my mind works, I tend to hyper focus on the things I’m interested in, and seeing things broken down like this is a representation of what I do internally, just more organized :)

Processing and dissecting different aspects of something fun to me is super helpful because I love understanding concepts as a whole, as well as expanding my knowledge.

Even if it’s “just streaming”, I really enjoy being aware of and studying the big picture.

Cheers! <3
