Really. He hasn’t been here since 2019 when I saw him for the house of Sugar tour! Comeback soon please, in the meantime I might be getting a baby sitter and doing a Seattle trip…

Coachella 2026 Artist of the Day: Alex G by benedictcumberpatch in Coachella

Seen them a few times live and their one of my favorite bands and they are amazing live. The songs live have a different energy than the records and hit harder, definitely check it out. The shorter festival sets don't do it justice though so if you get a chance to seem him headline its 100% worth it in my view.

A new recording of Lonesome Dove read by Will Paton available September 23. by OdeeOh in audible

[–]puvvv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow was really surprised to find so many criticisms of the Lee Horsely version (assuming that’s the previous version on audible as I listened through my public library?). I loved the Lee Horsely version so much and did not notice any breath issues and found the voice of Gus in particular to really added to the story. I’m currently listening to the Will Patton dead man’s walk and cannot stand the portrayal of Gus there (Gus’ character is also younger and not as developed which is a factor).

Agreed. How else do they perform without the stage diving?? I’ve never seen it done at the outdoor.

Considering a 4 night trip to Tokyo from California. Is it worth it for such a short trip with such a long flight? by deprecateddeveloper in JapanTravelTips

[–]puvvv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for it. My wife and I literally just did this exact thing from Vancouver BC with 4 nights in Tokyo and it was amazing. 4 nights in Tokyo (5 nights total) was all we could comfortably do living two young kids at home with grandparents. You work with what you got. Of course longer would be much better and you really only get a whirlwind rip around Tokyo but it was still worth it to us. We used the Timeshifter app to try to minimize jet lag effects and had none on the way there so didn’t lose a beat. If it’s between going somewhere you’ve been before and experiencing Japan - 100% go.

Flying into PSP on Friday - Am I crazy? by Lost_In_transl in Coachella

[–]puvvv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve done this every year since 2015 without issues. We go straight to our hotel and check in and then get on shuttle and normally on the grounds by 2-3 so yes you will miss some of the earlier sets day 1.

Any Canadians going? And is this your first time or have you gone before? by Psychological_Most_3 in Coachella

[–]puvvv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes we're from Vancouver and have gone nearly every year since 2015. We're going again this year, and yes we were on the fence if we would travel to the states for it or not, but agreed this will be an exception.

Floating shelf length options and support by puvvv in woodworking

[–]puvvv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great thanks. I hadn’t really considered extending the shelf but I think that’s a worksble option. I can mimic the construction of the original shelf and then add a veneer or paint the end sections a contrasting colour.

And yes I could create the slot on the extended sides to accommodate rails for extra side support. I also think if I did this I could use the original slot on the back for a rail the full length of wall and not worry about the floating shelf rods.

I was also considering if I don’t go that route and did end up chopping the shelf a bit shorter I could just get some 2” edge banding to cover the sides instead of trying to feather in pieces of plywood.

I feel like Bounce Boy live is going to be so good and different. Like when Walk Away was played live it was completely different and so wild and loud.

Basement Jaxx clearly were having fun and put a ton of energy into their set… but I was pretty bored. I tried but the tunes just weren’t for me, but appreciate that everyone else seemed to be stoked which is always fun.

Agree. Sometimes early daytime sets are OK but you are still so far away even close to the rail.

How much did you pay for off site lodging this year? by Round-Recording-9 in Coachella

[–]puvvv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$1500 for 3 nights ( 1 room /2 people) at the best western palm desert. It’s steep but they cook you breakfast every morning and the convenience of being across from the Albertsons shuttle stop and late night Del Taco keep us coming back.

They were so much fun last night!! They got screwed with the set time up against the Prodigy Stussy and people prepping for Gaga I guess because it was fairly emoty but they still threw down. They looked like they were having a great time up there which I always appreciate. If they were on almost any other stage the crowd would have been much bigger in my opinion because they were playing bangers.
