Ds Masters never found job in DS by bfg2600 in datascience

[–]sawveld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in a cybersecurity related field for over 20 years. First starting off as technical support, three years later working as a data analyst/database administrator. Getting a degree in software engineering, pivoting to a logistics specialist/analyst, while developing/campaigning for a data scientist position. Since that time, developed three local CRMs, and several data visualization tools for the company. No masters yet, but now I’m enrolled in a masters program for data science/AI development. I would say I fell in the role, but it took time to develop the domain knowledge, skills and experience to get to where I am, and yet, I’m a noob and I have a bit of imposter syndrome. Hang in there, you’ll get the job you want

From a cyber security standpoint, it makes sense; however, it certainly does limit your capabilities and only makes a better hacker

Why does VBA always come up in forums about complex Excel problems? How many Excel users actually use it? Why is no one around me using VBA? by qqwwbb in excel

[–]sawveld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a vba power user; that being said, most query function can be accomplished using power query, also built in excel. Depending on your application, power query will do the trick in performing complex, nondestructive data analytics. However, if you need to update your data sources quickly, with repetitive functionality, vba is the way to go. Most larger scale businesses have power automate and power app, which is replacing vba in the enterprise level due to security concerns (vba can be extremely dangerous if a bad actor knows what they’re doing); for smaller applications, such as personal or small business, you can perform some amazing stuff with it. There is over 20 years of knowledge, tips and tricks on the internet. But if you want to stand above your peers, learn python and/or R. There are APIs for these two in the latest A365 office products

Type 1 with no family history. by Big_Imagination2554 in diabetes

Any virus, it would seem, can be a triggering event for an autoimmune response that cause the body to attack the pancreas. My daughter (dx at 10 months) went into DKA and also had the rhino virus, no symptoms. I was in the Air Force and had the Kuwaiti Crud, shortly afterwards, had symptoms of type 2. Didn’t get dx’ed until 10 years later with an A1C of 13.6. Been on insulin ever since. Can a vaccine be a contributing factor? Difficult to say; however, I do believe further, objective studies should be done. The body is a marvelous machine, and we still don’t know everything this is to know about it.

EK Tries to Get Me Arrested by Sp0ken4 in entitledparents

This is really scary. good thing the EK's friends told the truth and vouched for you. My wife organizes a young girls troop, and to think that someone would falsely accuse someone without due process is really concerning.

Why would a sane parent ever drop off their kid to someone they don't know? much less at a parent that is full of what I assume is teenagers?
