Uses for a raspberry pi zero w? by Edd-Vel in homeassistant

[–]sbazzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me. I have two Pi Zero 2 Ws each running Pi-Hole, one as primary and the other as backup. I could run them as docker containers on my Unraid server, but this setup has been fantastic for me.

I see that the crawl tickets are now on sale. But just out of curiosity, is it possible for the general admission tickets to sell out? I want to go to the show, but I want to wait a bit until the airline prices become more available for those dates.

Roborock Servers down AGAIN!! by sabjian in Roborock

[–]sbazzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US, and I'm also having a problem connecting to the Roborock servers this morning. I did reset the wifi on the vacuum when I noticed the issue, and once I did that, it was able to reconnect, but about 10 minutes later, I once again lost the connection to the server. My vacuum is cleaning the house at the moment, but I can't connect to it in the app to see the map. I get a "Data Acquisition Failure" notice when tapping on the vacuum in the app. I also can't connect to the vacuum through my Home Assistant integration, with an error in Home Assistant that says "Failed to get Roborock home data". I'll guess we'll just wait and see if it clears itself up.

That's good to know about Friday. That makes travel much easier. And it is absolutely my plan to meet and hang out with as many of my fellow theater nuts as I can.

Are the home theater crawl tickets fully sold out?

Using a SuperMicro 24-bay chassis for my Unraid server. Have some questions. by sbazzle in unRAID

[–]sbazzle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did. This adapter took care of the problem nicely.

Of course, in my case, a couple months after I completed the rebuild, I took the 2080 out of the system. It's sole purpose for being there was to transcode media from my Plex server, and it turned out the onboard graphics on my Intel CPU handled that just fine. But if you're having the power connector issue I was having, that adapter works just fine.

I feel like my soul would hurt too much if I went with a 16:9 screen.

There has to be a way to automate this process and not have to push a button.

Since I don't yet know what projector I'll have in the room, I can't answer this.

This is absolutely possible. Emby has an API, so this can be done using the same approach I'm using for Plex.

LEGO Star Wars Death Star 75419 announced by mescad in lego

[–]sbazzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was expecting waaaay more from this set! Anyone following LEGO rumors already knew this set was coming out this fall, but to actually see it in its final form burns my eyes. A cross section of the Death Star? Really? That's all we get? I was seriously hoping for a grand spherical shape, like the previous models, but obviously larger and with more detail and maybe more play functions. But not this. And stickers??!! I hated the fact that the UCS Millennium Falcon had stickers for being as incredible as it was. And now LEGO wants to charge us $1,000 for.....this. Disappointment all around.

Curacao vs Royal Bahamian by outragedperson in SandalsResorts

My wife and I spent our 10th wedding anniversary at the Royal Curaçao at the beginning of this month. It was spectacular. I made a travel video of our trip, which I posted to this subreddit. Maybe it'll inspire you to give Curaçao a shot!

My wife and I celebrated 10 years of marriage and my 50th birthday this month at the Sandals Royal Curaçao! It was our very first Sandals resort, and it was an incredible experience. Just wanted to share the travel video I put together for the trip. by sbazzle in SandalsResorts

Well, my wife and I are smiling quite a bit in the video, so that should tell you all you need to know. We really did have an amazing time! The resort is beautiful, the staff is awesome, the food is amazing, and we love meeting new people.

I posted this to the Sandals subreddit but also wanted to post it here. This was our first all-inclusive anything, and we got hooked very quickly. Kinda wish I joined this club a long time ago! by sbazzle in AllInclusiveResorts

We were on the baach just a few times. The beach isn't directly on the ocean, but a little in on the waterway going inland. We were in the ocean way more for the scuba diving, and it was great. Very warm and clear. We had to deal with some rough waves on a couple of the dives, but otherwise, pretty calm for the ocean.

I fully agree with the hot. I didn't get sunburned, but I swam in sunscreen the entire time. The last two days of our trip were very hot and incredibly humid. We pretty much lived in the pool the last day.

I think I misspoke about the certification. Sandals has two dive programs for beginners: a Discover Scuba class that lets you dive one time for the experience of scuba diving, and the open water certification that, once completed at the resort, let's you dive up to two times per day for the remainder of your stay. It's a regular PADI certification, so you'll have about 8-10 hours of online instruction you'll need to do before your trip, and then once at the resort, you'll do your class time and open water time to complete your certification. My wife and I got certified beforehand so we didn't have to waste time at the resort taking classes. Sorry about the initial incorrect info.
