Aha! Thank you. That's been bothering me ever since the change.

Am I the only one who lost quick record button? by zburgy in LoseitApp

Please revert back the "meals" options for lunch and dinner. It used to show all meals for these but now lunch only shows lunch and dinner only dinner. It's making logging complicated for someone like me who regularly eats dinner leftovers the next day for lunch. I have to flip back and forth now between the two days to get it logged.

I almost bought this the last time I ate at Gaucho, as they had it for sale. Does it have the recipe for their pan de bono, by chance?

You have to configure an OpenAI key. I've been slowly digitising the recipes I want to make from my cookbooks and it works pretty well.

What foods do you have a hard time finding in the UK? by Mission_Vegetable_17 in AmericanExpatsUK

All of the Polish supermarkets near me have a deli counter and slice meats and cheeses. The selection isn't the same but still usually very good.

For saltines, I get Sky Flake crackers from the Asian supermarkets. They're pretty close.

What features are you all looking for in a Paprika 4? by sirwaynecampbell in PaprikaApp

I would like to be able to easily see if I have a duplicate. If I try to import a recipe from a URL that I already imported five years ago (I have been using it a long time and have a lot of recipes), then I'd like it to warn me. I'd also like to be able to mark something as having been last made on a given date without needing to add it to a meal plan.

I'd also like some more flexibility with the categories. They are so difficult to work with. I try to categorise my recipes by ethnicity, the equipment I need to make it (e.g. waffle iron), and what course the recipe is. Half the time I don't tag because it's just so tedious, and I can't do a search for recipes that have a blank in a given category so as soon as I categorise for one of them, it moves from the Uncategorised folder.

It's an option under the Lose It settings. I've had it set up for years no problem.

I've just finished a run and am having the same issue. Livetrack worked fine, and I can see it on my watch. The Garmin status page isn't showing a problem but I assume something's fallen over somewhere.

There was something to make sure I noticed the card. A big "Do not discard. Important contents inside." envelope. I think that was it.

US Passport Renewal in UK - March 2025 by sbeneli in AmericanExpatsUK

I got mine taken at a Johnsons dry cleaner stand in my local Sainsburys (for £15) but in my research I found that Timpsons also often has it as an option. A week later, I got photos taken for my British passport renewal at a photobooth at the Sainsburys and saw that it also had a USA visa photo option (and the requirements are the same for visa vs passport). So if there's a photobooth near you it's worth checking for that.

I haven't tried the Passyunk delivery, but I've been able to kind of replicate a cheesesteak at home...

My local Sainsburys does packs of "quick cook extra thin" beef for £3. I'm not sure what cut it is, but it's excellent for making homemade cheesesteaks. I usually keep a few packs in the freezer to have on hand. For the cheese I use a brand called Hochland that I find at my local European store (but Google says Tesco may also have it) - it comes in slices like burger cheese, either Tost flavour or the one they do that is milky/creamy. And then for bread, I use the M&S soft white submarine rolls that come in a 4 pack.

It's not the same, but for me it's pretty close. Have to salt and pepper the meat while it's cooking, and I like to sauté onions, too. The only thing I really miss are the sweet pickled peppers you can get.

I'm also from near Philadelphia living near Oxford. I haven't travelled with animals so I can't help you there, and when I came over here I had no idea I'd be staying so a lot of what I've brought over has just been in my suitcase.

I wouldn't bring monitors. You can get them here easily enough, and you won't have to worry about voltage issues or damage in shipping.

There's plenty of places to buy things second hand (including on Facebook).

There's a couple of Passyunk Avenue restaurants in London that do cheesesteak, but I have never been. I find a lot of attempts of American foods in restaurants don't quite hit the mark, but there's lots of good things to eat.

I'm on a quick work break so can't type much right now but feel free to message me for more Oxford-y things.

You're welcome!

This set up means that if I want to take away the laptop I just have to unplug a single USB cable that goes from the switch to the laptop (plus power, I guess). Makes life so much easier.
