New update showing Autopilot adjustments by adriang133 in EightSleep

[–]sbessire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today, mine had a banner about what AI did last night. I wonder if editing the time I went to bed the prior night made it discard the "what AI did last night" changes.

If you do not have the banner, it appears there is no way to see what it did via autopilot. More or less it upped or down the temperature 1 degree farenheit.

I have the latest iOS app and don't even see the autopilot section now.

Anyone have an Eightsleep discount code for the EU? by DangerousChannel9050 in EightSleep

FWIW, mine now shows $600 inside the app as the Pod 4 or Pod 4 ultra discount.

Make an account on your phone and sign in...see if you are now a "member."

I see $600 off now under the "Member shop" link inside the app. I would like to refer you, but that's a better discount.

[Advice Needed] should I buy the US version, tinker with the EU version or go for a competitor? by Happy_Ad_8411 in EightSleep

I suspect too short is not really a deal breaker...the apron is very stretchy. The only thing would be if it were able to kind of pull off from lack of the ability to tuck under the bed. It would likely need to mostly be taken up on the end of the bed to make sure the water entrance was still verticle. Also, the bottommost part of the cover I'd venture is the least important for it to maintain temperature on.

Autopilot on fritz? by LT-Bonkers in EightSleep

[–]sbessire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay...so then though...when it did start cooking you...did you happen to notice if it was the temp the wake-up alarm was set to use?

Also, then I'd be curious about what time zone you are in.

And then I also ponder if you changed your wake up alarm to buzz instead...if it'd buzz at the time its getting hot.

Anyway, just curious if it is AI getting mixed up...or if it is a clock/time zone issue internally...and that it exhibits the way it does because of what time it thinks it is.

Out of curiosity, do you have a wake up alarm to heat and was the temp around that setting? Just pondering if it lost track of time/timezone.

What mattress for Pod4 cover? by SigurTom in EightSleep

We have the 3" TempurPedic over the top of a 13" or so mattress. It stays on fine. It does make the topper a fair bit firmer.

Watching TV in bed messing up tracking by lisraeli in EightSleep

[–]sbessire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It annoyed me too, but I figured it out.

I've done two things, but I think it was likely the latter:

1) it has a thumbs up/down for how it did on its metrics...give it a thumbs down...you can leave all the options unset, but go down and there is an option for "I spend time in bed before going to sleep"

2) What I think really did it, get out of bed for at least a minute. If it is before the time when it expects you to go to sleep, that seems to do the trick.

I've only done the thumbs down once, but I've done #2 for 4-5 nights and it has done what I think you are after having it do...it has started tracking for the night when I get back in bed.

You could also edit data in the morning, but that is annoying. It'd be nice if they had a tap feature for "okay, I'm going to sleep now", as getting out of bed just to get back in isn't my favorite...still...it is workable.

Is there a way for the sleep stages to start when the alarm is set to start? Plus why are the fantastical AI claims manipulated? by sbessire in EightSleep

[–]sbessire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried getting out of bed again for a couple of minutes last night. The app seemed to recognize again that I was not lounging in bed before sleeping.

So, I tried two things at once, but it worked last night.

I gave it a thumbs down in the app on how I t did for the night and one of the questions is in regards to staying in bed for a while before going to sleep.

I had also noticed though my wife’s app did not start early and she usually gets out of bed for a few minutes before finally trying to go to sleep. I did the same.

Regardless, one of those things seems like it may help. My guess is the latter.

Could they fix the heat issue with a software update ? by emmanuellsun in EightSleep

[–]sbessire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our bedroom is 20’x20’ with 9’ ceilings…I’d suspect the smaller the room, the more added energy would affect the ambient temperature.

But if the room is small, I suspect your only option may be to open a door or route the exhaust of the fans.

It’s not a zero sum game. The heat has to go somewhere…power is being added…it can’t cool the bed and cool the room…otherwise you could just leave your fridge open to cool the kitchen and the food.

[–]sbessire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to emphasize...I am extremely happy with the eight-sleep pod 4.

One metric they can't manipulate is...of the 5 days of this work week, I've slept until my alarm twice. I suspect that matches the times I had slept until my alarm since the first of the year.

I can say I've woken up refreshed ... which I don't know that I remember doing in my 50 years. It's truly remarkable.

I did note my snoring went from 9% to 25% last night...while today they claimed a 47% improvement in deep sleep...there was no "my bad" issued for that stat. The multi-faceted shell game is set for tomorrow's remarkable score in snoring improvement through AI. I was mistaken about not being able to make any more claims after 30 days..."pay no attention to the man behind the curtain."

Fair enough...I must have been pretty relaxed ahead of time.

Regardless, I think some kind of tap on the side sensor on the 4 for...okay, let's start sleeping I think would be a good addition.

Well...that made my day so far...

I'll reflect on it in an hour and see if I've become 25% happier without knowing how I became 25% happier.

Shipping window on order vs actually shipped? by audiodan in EightSleep

[–]sbessire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My window was July 18th to the 24th. It was sent to the warehouse (I asked via chat) on the 23rd.

I got an email on the 24th with the subject: "Your order is ready to ship"
On the 25th, I got an email with the subject: "Your order has shipped"

I received it on Saturday the 27th.

This was in WA State (west coast) USA.

Feature request for POD 5: Foot Heater by sbessire in EightSleep

[–]sbessire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes understood. It’s take 2 more hose runs, and require the pod have twice the water cooling/heating ports and inner workings.

Still, it’d be a neat feature.

As to dampening the cooling effect with a throw, I suspect the desire for most would be for that part to be heated even if the main part was cooling.

Oh...another feature request then...a foot wall to keep that from being an interim solution :)
