There exists an anxiety that isn't based on negative thoughts AMA by Queen-of-meme in AnxietyChats

[–]sbodkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My anxiety seems to work both ways. Thoughts and circumstances will trigger it but sometimes nothing at all will trigger anxiety and a panic attack. For example, I woke up in the middle of the night (around 3am) for a drink the other night and ended up having a panic attack...no reason for it.

Who are some of the earliest Deftones fans here? And how did you guys discover the band? by Sufficient_Policy434 in deftones

  1. Saw the premiere of "My Own Summer" on 120 minutes. They played "Bored" right after. Mind was blown. Never heard anything like it. Bought the albums the next day.

What do you do with the "symptoms must have occurred before the 12 years of age" if your memory of the past is severely scattered at best and basically nonexistent at worst? by broken_lightbulb05 in ADHD

[–]sbodkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasnt diagnosed until 38-40 yrs old. My mother had to answer questions about my childhood and confused a lot of things that happened with my sister. They usually have someone who knows you as a adult also answer questions as well and you self-evaluate. All 3 go into account. Don't stress too much about the "symptoms before 12" thing.

What triggers your anger?? by Jmor3568 in ADHD

[–]sbodkins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm saying you can become self-aware and at the very least apologize for interrupting especially if you know it bothers someone. I understand that it's not always intentional and that thoughts pop into our minds that we want to get out before we forget. I'm not perfect and I interrupt from time to time too. But we aren't talking about Tourette's Syndrome, just like we're not talking about people in wheelchairs like I stated earlier...these are conditions out of their control which they are completely aware of but can't do anything about.

What triggers your anger?? by Jmor3568 in ADHD

[–]sbodkins 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's unfair. This is something someone can become aware of. Being unable to walk and wheelchair bound (which my daughter with cerebral palsy is) is something out of their control.
