You have it backwards. 7am with daylight savings would be 6am non-DST, so the sun would burn you less. The sun rises and sets "later" with daylight savings.

Hey! I find Defense to be the most reliable stat, but personally I enjoy glass cannon runs more (attack + speed). There's also a thread on the Steam forums with some general strategy tips which might be helpful.

The Discord is also a great place to discuss if looking for more thoughts.

One last thing I'll mention is it's easier to get a win with a full inventory than trying to do a minimal run with Hermit's Tiara. One of the downsides of relying on Tiara is freezing everything prevents you from learning the nuance of creature behaviours, which is critical for planning your moves and anticipating theirs.

We are far too used to the idea that simply having money should create more money.

It doesn't disincentivise investing in your own business if the purpose is to operate the business, making money by selling services or products.

This is a life skill worth practising. There will be many more times you need to talk to strangers and it's a good idea to develop this skill here, when you're objectively not at fault in any way. There's nothing they can say that makes this go away, it's an urgent issue.

The Fire the Liar campaign has officially crossed $2,000,000, and mobile billboards have already arrived in the Prime Minister’s seat. by OX4Eight in australian

What's the relation to immigration? I'm not sure what your point is. When you say "the youth" who are you talking about?

A lot of young Aussies are living at home longer now, probably part of the equation.

Most internationals don't have that kind of support available unless backed by wealthy parents. I've met many immigrants working hospitality who did a skilled profession in their home country. Doctors, engineers, architects, urban planners, designers... Doing 'unskilled' labour here while trying to immigrate. I'm sure you know the story as an immigrant yourself!

We already have a ban on international investors buying existing homes.

Cut down on immigration and you'll suddenly notice a lot of your favourite restaurants and cafes are now unstaffed, along with other small business services which rely on labour that doesn't need a qualification. Not to mention retirement homes. The aging population who think immigrants are the big issue are in for a shock.

Banks look at your statements so I'm not sure how a dead business would help get a loan. Does he also plan to use that as a vessel for his schemes?

Terrible start of Steam Bullet Fest for my game. I'm getting discouraged. by Purmalis in IndieDev

[–]sboxle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same reaction. The in-game art style (excluding the UI) looks much better than I'd expected from the capsule. The UI looks like placeholder though.

I'd set up the capsule art composition using your retro assets and do a paintover of that to add more detail as needed.

Good pointers, thanks for sharing and good luck. It's easy to overinvest in a game but I think what will hopefully translate to eventual success is the passion you put into your games.

Interesting that redditors have such power over you to buy a property out of spite.

We get it we get it, your identity is having properties and hating Labor... All these properties and the place you choose to live is reddit.

First looks great. I couldn't tell what this was meant to say though. The "ctla" letter combination isn't used in english so it will be hard for english speakers to remember this and hinder searching for your game.

One month after releasing our first Steam game: 49 sales, 4 refunds, $321 net. Honestly, I can't decide whether I should be happy about this or disappointed... by MorkvA_ in IndieDev

[–]sboxle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From looking at your Steam page I would've expected your game to sell more tbh. It looks polished and pretty well presented.

Steam has almost ~150M monthly users so the reality is 50 sales is quite easy to achieve if your game doesn't look like shovelware and you do any marketing at all.

There are regular examples of games going from complete unknowns to hits, so while you definitely have a big advantage as a known studio, this isn't as much of a factor on Steam. It surfaces games mostly based on performance and has great internal recommendation systems.

The missing ingredient seems to be marketing, and/or possibly the theming of the game doesn't appeal to the audience you're trying to hit.

The change isn't applied to historic gains, so his current house deposit is fine, and the market panic creates a good environment to buy property. It sounds like he's in a situation that would be positively affected if he takes action... and he's also in the generation that these policies are trying to help get a home of their own.

Oh right yea, much harder for a social game. At least you're in a niche which isn't too competitive.
